Quantum correlations and secret bits
It is shown that (i) all entangled states can be mapped by single-copy measurements into probability distributions containing secret correlations, and (ii) if a probability distribution obtained from a quantum state contains secret correlations, then ...

Diagnosis melanoma with artificial intelligence systems: A meta‐analysis study and systematic review
This meta‐analysis evaluates the diagnostic accuracy of AI‐based skin cancer models. The pooled AUC was 0.96, with sensitivity and specificity of 0.89 and 0.92, respectively. Hybrid models demonstrated superior performance (AUC: 0.98) compared to single DL (AUC:0.95) and ML (AUC:0.95) models.

Home bias and stock market development. The Polish experience [PDF]
Pension reform has become a major policy issue for both developed and developing countries in recent years. In developing countries the impact of these reforms on the development of their financial markets is critical.

Finding instabilities in the community structure of complex networks
The problem of finding clusters in complex networks has been extensively studied by mathematicians, computer scientists and, more recently, by physicists. Many of the existing algorithms partition a network into clear clusters, without overlap.

Energetics of the global ocean: The role of mesoscale eddies [PDF]
This article reviews the energy cycle of the global ocean circulation, focusing on the role of baroclinic mesoscale eddies. Two of the important effects of mesoscale eddies are: (i) the flattening of the slope of large-scale isopycnal surfaces by the ...

Pension Reforms in Poland and Elsewhere: the View from Paris [PDF]
Recently several countries, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, have at least partially reversed their earlier moves towards compulsory defined-contribution schemes.

Bell's inequalities detect efficient entanglement [PDF]
We review the status of Bell's inequalities in quantum information, stressing mainly the links with quantum key distribution and distillation of entanglement.

From Bell's Theorem to Secure Quantum Key Distribution
Any Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocol consists first of sequences of measurements that produce some correlation between classical data. We show that these correlation data must violate some Bell inequality in order to contain distillable secrecy ...

Optimal solutions for complex design problems: Using isoperformance software for human factors trade offs [PDF]
A major application of isoperformance is as a trade-off methodology of the three major drivers of system design; equipment, training variables, and user characteristics. The flexibility of isoperformance allows each of these three components to be nearly

Splitting the voter criticality
Recently some two-dimensional models with double symmetric absorbing states were shown to share the same critical behaviour that was called the voter universality class.
