Off-pump redo coronary artery bypass grafting
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2000Conventional redo coronary artery bypass grafting is associated with significant morbidity. The danger of reoperation is mainly in reopening the sternum and in the manipulation of the heart and the old grafts. Therefore, off-pump redo coronary artery bypass grafting with a patient-specific approach in selected cases seems an ideal technique.Between ...

Current Opinion in Cardiology, 2005
Coronary revascularization has become the principal treatment modality in patients with severe coronary artery disease. The broader application of percutaneous coronary interventions in patients with multivessel disease and the recent introduction of drug-eluting stents have both lead to a decline in the number of patients referred for surgical ...

Off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting: Exposure, stabilization, and strategy
2021Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB), either via median sternotomy or via left anterior small thoracotomy, can now be accomplished with the help of the newly manufactured stabilization devices from diverse companies. Furthermore, heart positioners have evolved and provide cardiac tissue capture through gentle vacuum compression on the apex, enabling

CORONARY ARTERY SPASM AFTER OFF‐PUMP CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS GRAFTING
ANZ Journal of Surgery, 2007Background: Coronary artery spasm (CAS) in the immediate postoperative period has been recognized as a possible cause for perioperative myocardial ischaemia after off‐pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). It varies in severity and can be associated with circulatory collapse and death.

Paraplegia After Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2014We report the case of a young patient who developed paraplegia after CABG without CPB. It is important to point out that this patient's aorta was not manipulated in any way because the only graft performed was a left internal mammary artery to left anterior descending artery.

Thromboelastography in off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting
Asian Cardiovascular and Thoracic Annals, 2014Background Thromboelastography enables complete evaluation of the process of clot initiation, the structural characteristics of the formed clot and its stability. Many previous studies have assessed the predictive role of thromboelastography in on-pump cardiac surgery, but there are no clear guidelines on its use in off-pump coronary artery bypass. The

Anesthesia for off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting
Seminars in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2003Off-pump coronary artery bypass presents special challenges for the anesthesiologist and surgeon, who must work closely together to provide optimal care. Displacement and immobilization of the heart for exposure of the coronary arteries, as well as occlusion of these vessels, can result in periods of significant hemodynamic instability.

Off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting in octogenarians
The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2003Off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) has become accepted for myocardial revascularization because it reduces perioperative morbidity. We assessed the safety and efficacy of bypass surgery on the beating heart in elderly patients.Off-pump CABG was done in 25 patients aged 80 years or older between February 1996 and February 2001.

Coronary artery and graft spasm after off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting
The Japanese Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, 2005We report a case of a 52-year-old man with severe coronary artery and graft spasm after triple-vessel off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting. Emergent coronary angiography was performed to identify the location and severity of the spasm. Intracoronary injections of several vasodilators failed to relieve the spasm.

Graft to Coronary Artery Shunt During Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2006We have developed a simple technique for temporary shunt from the saphenous vein graft to the coronary artery during off-pump coronary anastomosis. The ends of a 2-mm diameter tube were inserted into the distal end of the saphenous vein graft in which proximal anastomosis had been established and into the right coronary artery crux.
