Assessing violent offending in serious juvenile offenders
Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, 1993The convergent validity of the two most frequently used methods for assessing violent offending in juveniles (i.e., self-reports and arrests) was evaluated. Participants were 87 serious juvenile offenders and their maternal figures, primarily from disadvantaged families.

For 100 years, there have been major fluctuations in prosecutions for sexual acts against minors. Prosecution and sentencing patterns have been fairly stable in recent years.
