Offensiveness scale: how offensive is this expression?
Estudos Linguísticos (São Paulo. 1978), 2018 In order to determine if offensiveness was a necessary trait to characterize certain expression as a swear word by the speakers, this paper presents a pilot experiment designed for this purpose. Based on the statistical analysis of the data, we show that these two concepts ("offensiveness" and "swear word") are not correlated.

Drug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.Supercritical fluid chromatography was employed in the sample preparation for IRMS determinations in sports drug testing for the first time and the developed method was successfully validated. Cholesterol (CHOL) was introduced as a novel endogenous reference compound and population‐based Δ‐values were established as shown here.

Deep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.Aluminum‐enhanced afterburning renders AE explosives more hazardous than conventional ones. Corrugated steel linings reduce far‐field AE blast overpressure by ~50% through wave reflection and dissipation. The developed model accurately predicts peak pressure (<10% error) and arrival time (<3% error), supporting protective design.
