Physics‐Constrained Constitutive Learning of Rate‐Limiting Timescales for Efficient Hydrogen‐Based Direct Reduction for Green Steel Making

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conversion‐resolved constitutive framework is developed for the hydrogen‐based direct reduction of iron oxide pellets. Effective reaction and transport timescales are inferred directly from measured trajectories and mapped against operating conditions, pellet architecture, and composition. The analysis reveals how late‐stage transport control emerges

Multiferroic‐Centric Materials and Systems Engineering for Battery Applications: An Insight Into Mechanisms, Strategies, and Characterizations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses

Multiscale Coupling From Mastication to Retronasal Aroma Perception: The PG‐DTCFN Model and Multiphysics Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using grilled lamb skewers as a model system, this work builds a multiscale coupling framework from oral processing to retronasal aroma perception, reveals dual‐kinetic release patterns and Electroencephalogram‐characterized central encoding features, and proposes an interpretable physics‐guided deep learning model validated by multiphysics simulation,

Collateral Damage from Offensive Cyber Operations—A Systematic Literature Review

open access: yesJournal of Cybersecurity and Privacy
As offensive cyber operations have become more commonplace, cyber collateral damage (CCD) to society and to civilian infrastructure has expanded in impact and severity. Several research contexts, frameworks, and methods apply to these collateral effects,

THE GREAT BATTLES ON THE EASTERN FRONT IN THE SUMMER OF 1917, IN THE COMMENTS OF THE HUNGARIAN PRESS IN ORADEA [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals: Series on History and Archaeology (Academy of Romanian Scientists), 2018
The succession of the military actions in the summer of 1917 generated three operations: the one from Mărăşti (the Battle of Mărăşti), the offensive operation of the 2nd Romanian Army; the defense operations of the 1st Romanian Army in the Mărăşeşti ...

Gap‐Free Information Transfer in 4D‐STEM via Fusion of Complementary Scattering Channels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fused Full‐Field STEM (FF‐STEM) is introduced as a 4D‐STEM imaging modality that combines direct ptychography with tilt‐corrected dark‐field reconstruction in a single acquisition. Fourier‐space fusion using Wiener‐type spectral weighting closes the low‐frequency contrast gap inherent to bright‐field methods, delivering gap‐free, dose‐efficient, near ...

A Cyber SIOP? Operational Considerations for Strategic Offensive Cyber Planning [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2016
Most discussion to date about offensive cyber operations has focused on the theoretical and strategic rather than operational level of analysis. This mirrors the nuclear age, where critical operational questions were neglected in public discussion until very late in the Cold War. Yet these questions are critical for both nuclear and cyber operations so

Offensive chemical operations.

open access: yes, 2016
Interest in offensive chemical operations has increased, and there seems to be an indication that gas warfare may see its first employment offensively by the A.A.F. in the Pacific Theater.
