New era of office hysteroscopy

open access: yesThe Journal of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, 1996
One of the major problems of early office hysteroscopy was patient discomfort and pain due to the diameter of the scope. We overcame this handicap by using a small-diameter hysteroscope. We also developed a new way to access the cervix, the vaginoscopic approach, that permits hysteroscopy to be performed without speculum, tenaculum, or local anesthesia.
