The Offset Problem

Combinatorics, Probability and Computing, 1996
This paper is concerned with the analysis of locally time-synchronized slot systems for broadcast in packet radio networks. Local synchronization has been proposed in practice as less expensive than global synchronization over very wide areas, or over mobile networks.

Determination of Ideal Offset for Spatially Offset Raman Spectroscopy

Applied Spectroscopy, 2010
A key design parameter in spatially offset Raman spectroscopy (SORS) is the choice of offset distance between the illumination and collection areas. To investigate this choice, we performed SORS measurements on a simple two-layer chemical phantom.

Offset Approximation Along the Offset Direction for Planar Curve

2011 Fourth International Symposium on Computational Intelligence and Design, 2011
This paper proposed a wholly new offset approximation method. Based on the improvement of the best rational Chebyshev approximation theory, approximating the offset curve along the offset direction is investigated, and the approximation error is also measured along the offset direction, which could reflect the real approximation effect.

The Offset Model of a Hexapod Robot and the Effect of the Offset Parameter

International Journal of Manufacturing, Materials, and Mechanical Engineering, 2012
Generally, it is claimed that hexapod walking robots are superior to others. However, in some conditions hexapod suffers from stability problems. To solve the problem of stability, this paper proposes a new gait model of hexapod robot named offset model and also investigates the effects of morphological factor of hexapod robots on their locomotion.

A low-offset dynamic comparator with input offset-cancellation

2017 IEEE 12th International Conference on ASIC (ASICON), 2017
This paper presents a low-offset dynamic comparator using an input offset-cancellation technique. The offset of a dynamic comparator is mainly determined by the dynamic preamplifier. The proposed technique achieves input offset-cancellation under the assistance of the dynamic preamplifier and input-series capacitors, without quiescent current.

Worm Drives Offset and Non-Offset

2003
The term worm appears to be applied to that kind of helical wheel whose number of teeth is small (which number may be, and often is, as low as one), and whose teeth have such helix angles and are so wide that, in going from cheek to cheek along the axis of the wheel, they make more than one whole circumferential circuit. Given one tooth, a worm is said

A Low Offset Dynamic Comparator with Offset Elimination Circuit

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2017
A new dynamic comparator with offset elimination circuit is proposed. The offset elimination circuit decreases the influence of the offset voltage effectively and increases the resolution of the comparator. The simulation results show that, if the pre-set offset voltage is 10[Formula: see text]mV, the offset elimination circuit can decrease to the ...

Analysis of the offset to a parabola

Computer Aided Geometric Design, 1995
Abstract Wei Lu has recently constructed a proper rational parameterization for the two-sided offset to a parabola—indicating that this locus, an irreducible curve of degree n = 6, is of genus 0. The theory of algebraic curves then requires that the parabola offset have 1 2 (n−1)(n−2) = 10 double points.

An algorithm of the offset shape

Computers & Graphics, 1991
Abstract Offsetting a shape remains an interesting problem, even though many algorithms have been developed. But in those algorithms there may appear some defects to some concave shapes. This article shows a practical algorithm for offset, which is now working faultlessly in our graphical software package, and is suitable for both convex and concave ...
