Assessing print quality by machine in offset colour printing

Knowledge-Based Systems, 2013
Information processing steps in printing industry are highly automated, except the last one-print quality assessment, which usually is a manual, tedious, and subjective procedure. This article presents a random forests-based technique for automatic print quality assessment based on objective values of several print quality attributes.

High quality offset printing

Proceedings of the 9th annual conference on Genetic and evolutionary computation, 2007
Print media are still very important for everyone's daily life. Current efforts are concerned with the application of the well-established offset-printing technology to other media, particularly cardboards, which require some substantial adaptations. To this end, this paper proposed a new specific pre-processing stage.

Exploring on the Print-through Criterion of Offset Printing

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
In order to control digitally the print-through, the print-through criterion of offset printing was studied in this article. For 4 given paper samples, the paper properties including paper opacity and K&N ink absorbency were tested, and then print-through value expressed with ΔDand ΔEab*was measured under 9 sets of printing condition.

PRINTING. The ageing resistance of offset and electrophotographic prints

Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal, 2012
Abstract The moist heat (80°C and 65% relative humidity) and light (xenon arc lamp) treatments of accelerated ageing were applied to investigate the colour stability of offset and electrophotographic prints on papers made of virgin and I 00% recycled fibres.

Genotoxicity study in lymphocytes of offset printing workers

Journal of Applied Toxicology, 2005
AbstractThe potential cytogenetic damage in offset printing workers was evaluated using sister chromatid exchanges (SCEs), chromosome aberrations (CAs) and micronuclei (MN) as biomarkers in peripheral lymphocytes of 26 volunteers (14 workers, 12 controls).

Biodegradation of thermochromic offset prints

Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal, 2017
In this study, biodegradability aspect of thermochromic leuco dye print on two different paper materials were studied using the soil burial test under anaerobic conditions. Printed paper samples were evaluated for changes by visual examination, weight loss measurements, FTIR spectroscopy, SEM, microscopic images, and colorimetric measurements.

Mechanism of reverse-offset printing

Journal of Micromechanics and Microengineering, 2015
We propose a mechanism for reverse-offset printing based on a mathematical model. In reverse-offset printing, high resolution is achieved by patterning a coated, thin ink film with an intaglio-patterned clich?. By using the relationships among the ink blanket adhesion strength, the ink clich?

Recycling of Varnished Offset Printed Packaging Prints

Celulosa i hartia, 2007
In this study, the full colour (CMYK) offset printed cardboard finished with the layer of varnish was used for the production of recovered handsheets. The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficiency of conventional chemical two-stage deinking flotation of non-contact food packaging prints.

Usage of offset printing technology for printed electronics and smart labels

2020 43rd International Conference on Telecommunications and Signal Processing (TSP), 2020
Printed electronics is key segment in modern fabrication of ultra-low-cost RFID/NFC/RF tags, smart labels, packaging, sensors etc. This paper shows the opportunity of usage of well known printing process called "offset printing" or "offset lithography".
