Orbital angular momentum and beyond in free-space optical communications. [PDF]

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2022
Abstract Orbital angular momentum (OAM), which describes tailoring the spatial physical dimension of light waves into a helical phase structure, has given rise to many applications in optical manipulation, microscopy, imaging, metrology, sensing, quantum science, and optical communications. Light beams carrying OAM feature two distinct characteristics,

Continuous unconstrained PSO‐PTS strategy to maximize HPA energy efficiency for FBMC‐OQAM systems

open access: yesIET Communications, 2023
In filter bank multi‐carrier (FBMC) with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OQAM) systems, the major limitation of FBMC‐OQAM signaling is the high peak‐to‐average power ratio (PAPR).

Joint frequency offset, time offset, and channel estimation for OFDM/OQAM systems [PDF]

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2018
Among the multicarrier modulation techniques considered as an alternative to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) for future wireless networks, a derivative of OFDM based on offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OFDM/OQAM) has received ...

Performance study of HF communication using NOMA over narrowband HF channel

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 17, Issue 14, Page 1683-1690, August 2023., 2023
The novelty of this research is to increase the bit rate on high frequency (HF) systems. Non‐orthogonal multiple access technique (NOMA) technology is used over HF at narrow band 3 kHz ranges. In order to have real experiments SDR Hack RF systems are used, and the results show improvement in bit rate up to 45%.

Orthogonal frequency‐division multiplexing‐based signal design for a dual‐function radar‐communications system using circulating code array

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, Volume 17, Issue 6, June 2023., 2023
A dual‐function radar‐communications (DFRC) system based on the circulating code array is presented to address the contradiction between radar and communications system in beam scanning and beam coverage. Processed orthogonal frequency‐division multiplexing (OFDM) signal is transmitted by the circulating code array as the base signal to improve the ...

BER and PSD Improvement of FBMC with Higher Order QAM Using Hermite Filter for 5G Wireless Communication and beyond

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2023, Issue 1, 2023., 2023
Nowadays, multicarrier modulation schemes are being widely used in wireless communication system than single‐carrier modulation techniques. Single‐carrier modulation schemes are less capable of dealing with multipath fading channels than multicarrier modulation schemes, which results in lower spectral efficiency.

PAPR reduction technique for FBMC based visible light communication systems

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 16, Issue 15, Page 1807-1814, September 2022., 2022
Abstract One of the critical challenges in multicarrier‐based systems is peak to average power ratio (PAPR). Recently, Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC) is proved to be a promising candidate that can replace the traditional orthogonal multiplexing division (OFDM) scheme due to its better spectral efficiency, reducing both inter‐channel interference (ICI)

Partial transmit sequence based on discrete particle swarm optimization with threshold about PAPR reduction in FBMC/OQAM system

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 16, Issue 2, Page 142-150, January 2022., 2022
Abstract Partial transmit sequence (PTS) is an effective method to reduce the peak‐to‐average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system, but it is not suitable for the filter bank multi‐carrier with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC/OQAM) system because of the overlapping structure of FBMC/OQAM signals ...

Channel Measurement and Noise Estimation in FBMC/OQAM‐Based IoT Networks

open access: yesWireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
Channel measurement plays an important role in the emerging 5G‐enabled Internet of Things (IoT) networks, which reflects the channel quality and link reliability. In this paper, we address the channel measurement for link reliability evaluation in filter‐bank multicarrier with offset quadrature amplitude modulation‐ (FBMC/OQAM‐) based IoT network ...

Optimal resource allocation in 5G system using modified lion algorithm

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 15, Issue 1, Page 126-141, 3 January 2021., 2021
Abstract This research work intends to examine the resource allocation issues within the hybrid multi‐carrier non‐orthogonal multiple access (MC‐NOMA) systems, which includes the NOMA and orthogonal multiple access (OMA) modes. This is exploited to attain the energy efficiency (EE) and spectral efficiency (SE) tradeoff with the minimum rate ...
