Joint PP-PS angle-stack analysis and AVA inversion in Grane Field, offshore Norway

The Leading Edge, 2010
Eleven years ago, publication of the UK North Sea Alba Field OBC converted-wave (PS) image examples by MacLeod et al. caused quite a stir. The authors provided convincing evidence that “the Alba survey is the first 3D OBC survey in which successful converted-wave imaging of the reservoir has created significant economic benefit.” Most of us with an ...

Evidence for low-angle, subhorizontal hanging faults in rotated fault blocks, Cabinda, offshore Angola

The Leading Edge, 2002
Extensional structures that include normal faults whose dip decreases with depth are well known in the West African passive margin. The faults detach on the Aptian-aged Loeme salt layer. Rotation and faulting of the hanging-wall blocks has produced hydrocarbon trap geometries that hold several billion barrels of reserves.

Derisk Exploration Targets Offshore NW Scotland by Combination of Angle Domain Imaging and Machine Learning Techniques

82nd EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition, 2021
Summary West of Shetland (WoS) area is one of location of the UKCS largest remaining hydrocarbon reserves. For de-risking the WoS exploration Generalized Radon Transform (GRT) migration has been applied to preserve true amplitude and output exact angle gathers which are two important factors for Reservoir Characterization.

Evaluation of the Ice Load Acting on an Arctic Offshore Structure With Different Ice Drifting Angle

Volume 7: Polar and Arctic Sciences and Technology, 2020
Abstract In this study, an evaluation method and results for ice load acting on an Arctic offshore structure with various ice drifting angles are discussed. Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO) has conducted a research project to develop a hull form design for year-round floating type offshore structures in the

Numerical Investigation of Effects of Bow Flare Angle on Greenwater Overtopping a Fixed Offshore Vessel

Volume 1: Offshore Technology, 2018
The effect of bow flare angle on greenwater overtopping is numerically investigated using CFD with a VOF surface capturing scheme. A two dimensional fixed rectangular box with a flare angle is adopted to represent a Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading Unit (FPSO) with flare. Deep water conditions are assumed.

Successful High-Angle Through-Tubing Cement Packer Deployment and Reperforation Using Coiled Tubing: Offshore Niger Delta

SPE Nigeria Annual International Conference and Exhibition, 2018
Abstract Most economically feasible production optimization plans for brown fields include deploying rigless technologies for accessing reserves originally considered marginal and were, therefore, bypassed during the early stages of field development. Because these bypassed reserves were not considered significant, most of the wells were
