Application of GAN–CNN in Risk Assessment of Pipeline Failures in Multiphase Pipeline With Image Information Encoding Approach

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Field data from multiphase pipelines are transformed into grayscale images via Image Information Encoding, preserving feature values and interparameter relationships. A GAN–CNN model generates synthetic images that are decoded to expand the original database.

Accessing offshore wind turbines for maintenance : calculating access probabilities, expected delays and the associated costs using a probabilistic approach

open access: yes, 2012
There are ambitious plans in place for the expansion of offshore wind-power capacity in the EU and elsewhere. However, the cost of energy from offshore wind is much higher than that from land-based generation and anything between 15% and 30% of this cost

Reliability of floating foundation concepts for vertical axis wind turbines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Offshore wind turbines are developing at a rapid pace. By far the most common turbine configuration is the HAWT (Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine) and development of these machines is largely centered about drive train and blade issues with some work ...

Technoeconomic Assessment of Wind Power Potential in the Vicinity of GolGohar Sirjan Mining and Industrial Company

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
Graphical abstract of wind energy study in the Vicinity of GolGohar Sirjan Mining and Industrial Company. ABSTRACT Wind energy is a central pillar of sustainable energy transition; however, its feasibility strongly depends on site‐specific wind regimes and economic conditions.

Analysis of offshore wind turbine operation & maintenance using a novel time domain meteo-ocean modeling approach

open access: yes, 2012
This paper presents a novel approach to repair modeling using a time domain Auto-Regressive model to represent meteo-ocean site conditions. The short term hourly correlations, medium term access windows of periods up to days and the annual distibution of

Feasibility of Wind‐Powered Green Hydrogen Production via a Hybrid Graph Neural Network‐Transformer Forecasting Model

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accurate long‐term wind speed forecasting is pivotal for the strategic planning of renewable energy infrastructure, particularly for assessing the techno‐economic feasibility of wind‐powered green hydrogen facilities. However, capturing the complex spatiotemporal dependencies in climate data remains a significant challenge. This study proposes

Hub height ocean winds over the North Sea observed by the NORSEWinD LiDAR array : measuring techniques, quality control and data management [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In the North Sea, an array of wind profiling wind lidars were deployed mainly on offshore platforms. The purpose was to observe free stream winds at hub height.
