Turbines [offshore wind power]
Power Engineer, 2003This paper discusses the next generation of offshore windfarms proposed for the UK. Round 1 was launched in December 2000 and the successful applicants were announced in April 2001. Some 18 sites at 13 locations were awarded (some were multiple developments); of those, eight have already received consent Construction has already started at North Hoyle,

Maintenance for offshore wind turbines
2012This chapter has presented the personnel, infrastructure and data issues associated with improving the maintenance, availability and reliability of offshore wind farms. The key factors are shown to be the training of staff, the availability of appropriate access infrastructure and the presentation of appropriate data from the wind farms to those staff ...

2014
In this chapter, a perspective of offshore wind farms, applied concepts for fixed offshore wind turbines, and related statistics are given. One example of a large wind farm, which is successfully operating, is studied as well. Different concepts, their characteristics, advantages, and relative disadvantages are briefly discussed.

Dynamics of Offshore Wind Turbines
2010must ensure that the natural frequency of the overall system (rotor-blade-tower-foundation assembly) does not come close to the forcing frequencies of the imposedenvironmental loads. A failure to do this may amplify the dynamic response of the structure, leading to larger tower deflections which can compromise the performance of the wind turbine.

Damping of offshore wind turbines
2017Damping remains a hot-topic in design of offshore wind turbines as turbine and monopile sizes grow. For these new designs the contribution of fatigue loads in parked conditions have increased. In addition the larger impact of wave loads on XL monopiles has given wind wave misalignment a bigger role in fatigue in the cross-wind direction.

Floating Offshore Wind Turbines
2014In this chapter, a perspective of floating offshore wind technology, applied concepts, and related statistics are given. Floating wind turbines are recently appearing in the offshore wind market. There is no wind park based on floating structures until now. However, some wind parks are planned to be constructed in near future.
