Optimized Selenium‐Doped Nanocomposites for Enhanced Polymer Gel Performance in Permeability Reduction

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Excessive water production in mature oil fields necessitates robust shut‐off treatments, yet conventional polymer gels often fail under high‐temperature and high‐salinity conditions. This study aims to enhance gel thermal stability and mechanical strength by incorporating selenium‐doped Ag/AgO–ZnO nanocomposites synthesized via a novel green ...

DESLOCALIZACIÓN E INVERSIÓN EXTRANJERA DIRECTA. INCIDENCIA EN LA ECONOMÍA VASCA

open access: yesRevista de Estudios Empresariales. Segunda Época, 2008
The phenomenon of the offshoring is a very ambiguous one. Nowadays, it is very complicated to make a clear-cut distinction among the offshoring and the related phenomenons of international production and foreign direct investment.

From Offshore Outsourcing to Offshore Insourcing: Three Stories

open access: yes2012 IEEE Seventh International Conference on Global Software Engineering, 2012
Most large software companies are involved in offshore development of some sort, and now the trend is that small and medium sized companies are also going global. While empirical research suggests that offshoring are not always successful, evidence explaining the reasons for terminated collaborations is scarce, especially for small and medium sized ...

Design and Performance of a High‐Efficiency Inhibitor: Synergistic Effect of Modified Chitosan and Boron Nitride Nanosheets on Steel Protection

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Metal corrosion causes significant economic losses and safety hazards, underscoring the urgent need for effective, environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitors. In this study, an organic–inorganic composite inhibitor, chitosan–glucose–BN (CS–GL–BN) was developed to protect Q235 mild steel in a 3.5‐wt% NaCl solution.

Description of large, well‐preserved Enchodus specimens from the Bearpaw Formation of Alberta, Canada

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Fishes of the genus Enchodus were abundant and cosmopolitan in the Late Cretaceous, but are primarily known from isolated remains in Canada. Four well‐preserved fish skulls were recovered in recent years from ammolite mines sampling the Bearpaw Formation of Southern Alberta, and are here referred to Enchodus petrosus Cope, 1874.

Epidemiological Survey and Genomic Insights Into Ostreid Herpesvirus 1 Transmission in the Blood Clam Anadara broughtonii in China (2019–2025)

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Seven‐year surveillance reveals a cold‐adapted OsHV‐1 lineage in blood clams, with disease onset at 13°C—3–5°C lower than in oysters—and identifies asymptomatic carriers and facility effluent as key transmission routes. ABSTRACT Ostreid herpesvirus 1 (OsHV‐1) poses a major threat to bivalve aquaculture, but its impact on blood clams (Anadara ...

Scanning Parametric Sediment Echosounder as Tool for Underwater Archaeological Prospection

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Underwater cultural heritage 3D prospection techniques, especially for remains that are partly buried in the ground, are only very rarely available and often can only be applied with considerable technical effort. To overcome this limitation, we evaluate a methodological adaption of widely used and available single channel parametric sediment ...

How wildlife respond to tropical cyclones: short‐term tactics and long‐term impacts

open access: yesBiological Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT From butterflies to lizards and from sharks to seabirds, wildlife exhibit tactics to survive the impacts of tropical cyclones, also known as hurricanes, cyclones, or typhoons depending on where they occur. Some species seek refuge during the storm by moving, some remain in place and ride it out, and others move longer distances, avoiding the ...
