Introducing Borsantrazole: A Trifunctional Boron‐Based Pyrazole That Extends the Lifespan of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein we report a boron‐based pyrazole, (Borsantrazole ‐ a small molecule that selectively targets oxidative stress) that significantly increases survival, reduces weight loss, delays disease onset, and affects global protein changes in the SOD1‐G37R mouse model of ALS.

CALB2 is a Mechanoresistance Gene in Metastatic Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer cell lines of differing origins were cultured over many passages while being subjected to semi‐lethal levels of fluid shear stress, representing the harsh mechanical environment these cells are subjected to in the circulation during the process of distant metastasis.

A Global Methane Observation System to Reduce Uncertainty for Anthropogenic and Natural Sources and Sinks for Detecting and Attributing Climate Feedbacks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Conceptual illustration of a Global Ecosystem Methane Observing System (GEM‐OS) integrating satellites, aircraft, atmospheric networks, and ecosystem measurements to quantify methane emissions from anthropogenic and natural sources. The multi‐scale observing framework improves source attribution, reduces uncertainty in regional methane budgets, and ...

Evaluation of Sulfide Removing Rate by Basic Zinc Carbonate in Oil Based Drilling Fluids and Analyses of Sulfide Removing Mechanisms

open access: yesZuanjingye yu wanjingye
Basic zinc carbonate is a commonly used sulfide scavenger for drilling high-sulfide content formations with water-based drilling fluids, its ability to remove sulfide and the mechanism of sulfide removal in oil-based drilling fluids are still not well ...

Adaptive Responses of Tropical Crops: A Multi‐Scale Omics Integrated Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tropical crops integrate genomic, morphological, physiological, and ecological adaptations to thrive under extreme and variable environments. This review highlights how natural selection, domestication, and breeding shape stress resilience, resource‐use strategies, and productivity in sugarcane, banana, cassava, rubber and oil palm, offering new routes

An experimental study to evaluate the use of oil to prevent differential stuck pipe in Nahr Umr oil field

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering
Differential pipe sticking (DSP) is a main challenge when using water-based drilling fluids developed with bentonite clay. This study employed a Fann VG meter, a self-fabricated tester, and a stickance tester to examine the effect of oil on water ...

Effect of Additives on Rheological Properties and Fluid Loss of Oil Based Drilling Fluids

open access: yesAnnual Transactions of the Nordic Rheology Society
Oil-based drilling fluids are often used to drill geothermal or petroleum wells in hot locations. These fluids normally consist of dispersion of organophilic clays in water-in-oil emulsions. If loss of fluid to the formation is expected, fibres or other additives for fluid loss prevention are added.
