Advancing thermal stability in natural ester oil-paper insulation systems via precision nanostructuring with parylene films: Experimental and molecular-level comprehensive assessment

open access: yesPolymer Testing
The oil-paper insulation system in eco-friendly fire-retardant transformers depends on hydrophilic natural ester insulating oil. Moisture within the system synergistically interacts with aging, worsening oil-paper insulation degradation and hastening ...

Thermal Black‐Infused Polyurethane Rigid Foams: Novel Formulations Toward Higher‐Performance and More Sustainable Insulation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Thermal black improves polyurethane foam structure and stability. It helps the foam rise smoothly while promoting the formation of smaller, more uniform cells. The foam keeps its strength and insulation performance while reducing shrinkage. Its clean production and easy processing make it a sustainable, cost‐effective option for high‐performance ...

Takeover Vulnerability and the Discipline of ESG Overinvestment

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While takeovers serve a disciplinary role by replacing inefficient managers, the threat of takeovers may compel firms to divert attention from Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) efforts as a strategic response to external pressure, especially when such firms are already overinvesting in ESG.

Dynamic Spillovers Between FinTech, Blockchain, and Green Finance: A Quantile Connectedness Approach

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper explores how financial innovation and environmental sustainability intersect by analyzing spillovers between FinTech, blockchain energy use, and green finance. Using a Quantile Vector Autoregression (QVAR) framework, we examine weekly data from 2018 to 2024 across 11 digital, environmental, and macro‐financial indices.

Impact of time parameters of lightning impulse on the breakdown characteristics of oil paper insulation

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2016
At present, the insulation performances of electrical apparatus under lightning impulse voltages are always evaluated by the withstand test of standard lightning impulse voltage (1.2/50 µs), which is recommended by IEC Standard.

Influence of copper on the by-products of different oil-paper insulations

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2011
Transformer failure caused by the corrosion of copper material in transformer attracts great attention of researchers and engineers. In this paper, Karamay No. 25 naphthenic mineral oil, Karamay No. 25 paraffinic mineral oil, Kraft paper and copper were used to compose four combinations of oil-paper insulation samples.

From Material Tensions to Organizational Paradoxes: How Manufacturers Cope With the Limits of Circular Product Design

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Circular product design (CPD) is central to advancing the circular economy by enabling the narrowing, slowing, and closing of resource flows. Yet, its implementation remains persistently challenging for firms. Prior research has largely framed these challenges as discrete barriers, overlooking the structural contradictions embedded in CPD ...

Can Credit Rating Changes Affect Corporate Carbon Emissions? Some Evidence From the S&P 500

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using panel data on US S&P 500 firms from 2012 to 2024, this study examines how credit rating changes affect corporate carbon performance. Drawing on the resource‐based view and prospect theory, we show that credit rating downgrades lead to a statistically and economically significant deterioration in emission reduction scores.
