Hg-free electro-thermal cascade catalysis for acetylene upgrading into polyvinyl chloride precursor
Acetylene hydrochlorination is the predominant route for producing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) precursors in coal-rich, oil-poor regions. However, this conventional thermocatalytic pathway inevitably uses Hg-based catalysts, which pose serious threats to ...

Glycerol‐Modified Biphasic Silicone Gel for Synergistic Thermal Transport and Dielectric Reliability
A surfactant‐free glycerol‐modified biphasic silicone gel establishes metastable liquid interfaces that simultaneously enhance phonon transport and induce deep traps (1.28 eV), enabling synergistic electrothermal performance of enhanced thermal conductivity (+33.3%), thermal diffusivity (+48.3%), and DC breakdown strength (+57.6%) with suppressed space

Orchestration of Climate Action in Municipalities: A Collective Capacity Approach
ABSTRACT Municipalities are increasingly positioned as key actors in enabling local climate action, yet their ability to mobilise societal actors remains insufficiently understood. This study examines how municipal officials in six Finnish municipalities from different local contexts understand and operationalise collective capacity for climate action,

Varieties of Local Implementation for Net Zero in China: Evidence From Three Cities
ABSTRACT Since China updated its nationally determined contributions in 2021, achieving carbon peaking before 2030 and carbon neutrality before 2060—the so‐called “dual carbon” goals—has become the new guiding principle of China's climate governance. However, few studies have examined the implementation of China's dual carbon goals, particularly the ...

Renewable Energies in Kazakhstan: Current Status, Potential, Challenges, and Opportunities
Kazakhstan has strong renewable energy potential, with wind as the leading resource and solar and other sources offering additional opportunities. Key challenges include limited infrastructure, investment needs, and grid‐related technical issues. Despite these barriers, renewables can boost economic diversification, enhance energy security, create jobs,

Predicting EU Emissions Allowance Prices Using Macroeconomic Indicators and Hybrid AI Models
ABSTRACT Predicting carbon allowance prices has grown more crucial in relation to carbon market regulation, financial strategy, and environmental policy development. This study examines a hybrid forecasting system that combines deep learning with ensemble machine learning models to forecast the price fluctuations of EU Emissions Allowance (EUAs) within

Extraction of Antimicrobial Peptides From Fava Bean Protein Hydrolyzate by Phosphorylated Biochar
Antimicrobial peptides were extracted by functional biochar in one step. The enriched peptides demonstrated significantly enhanced antibacterial activity. ABSTRACT The extraction of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) from plant proteins remains challenging due to their low abundance, structural diversity, and the need for mild, efficient, and selective ...

Carbonates from Santos Basin revealed U–Pb ages correlated with basalt ages (A), suggesting that they were formed during magmatic events. These events placed hot CO2 in the reservoir, which, when mixed with carbonate‐rich cold water (B), led to thermal convection, enabling the formation of the U contained in the carbonates.
