Experimental Investigation of Oil-Water Two-Phase Flow in Horizontal, Inclined, and Vertical Large-Diameter Pipes: Determination of Flow Patterns, Holdup, and Pressure Drop

open access: yesSPE Production & Operations, 2021
Liquid-liquid phase flow in pipes merits further investigation as a challenging issue that has very rich physics and is faced in everyday applications. It is the main problem challenging the fluid flow mechanism in the oil and gas industry.

A Fast Algorithm to Simulate Droplet Motions in Oil/Water Two Phase Flow

open access: yesProcedia Computer Science, 2017
Abstract To improve the research methods in petroleum industry, we develop a fast algorithm to simulate droplet motions in oil and water two phase flow, using phase field model to describe the phase distribution in the flow process. An efficient partial difference equation solver—Shift-Matrix method is applied here, to speed up the calculation coding

Downward Annular Flow of Air–Oil–Water Mixture in a Vertical Pipe

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The paper presents the results of a study concerned with the hydrodynamics of an annular downward multiphase flow of gas and two mutually non-mixing liquids through a vertical pipe with a diameter of 12.5 mm.

Permeabilities of Water–Oil Two-Phase Flow in Capillary Fractures with Different Wettabilities

open access: yesEnergies
The influence of wettability on the permeability performance of water–oil two-phase flow has attracted increasing attention. Dispersed flow and stratified flow are two flow regimes for water–oil two-phase flow in capillary fractures.

Study on the Ability and Heterogeneity of Oil Water Two-Phase Flow in Sandstone

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract It is difficult to analyze the heterogeneity of sandstone reservoir and the seepage law of multi-phase fluid in Porous medium. Traditional experimental methods are difficult to accurately characterize the multi-phase flow and seepage characteristics of heterogeneous sandstone.

Dissipative Particle Dynamic Simulation of Oil-Water Two-Phase Flow in Quartz Slits

open access: yesGeofluids, 2023
Aiming to study the characteristics and mechanism of oil-water two-phase flow, based on the method of dissipative particle dynamics (DPD), meso-scale models of pressure-driven flow in quartz slits with width of 5-15 nm were simulated.

Hydrodynamics of air and oil–water dispersion/emulsion in horizontal pipe flow with low oil percentage at low fluid velocity

open access: yesCogent Engineering, 2018
The objective of this paper is to investigate the flow regimes of three phase flow, emerged to be as two phase flow. These two phases are air phase and oil dispersed in water phase, in other words the latter phase can be termed as water–oil emulsion ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
