A Semianalytical Two-Phase Imbibition Model in Dual-Porosity and Dual-Permeability Reservoirs
The pressure transient behavior of water injection well has been extensively investigated under single-phase flow conditions. However, when water is injected into formation, there are saturation gradients within the water flooded area.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Gamma radiation methods for clamp-on multiphase flow metering [PDF]
The development of a cost-effective multiphase flow meter to determine the individual phase flow rates of oil, water and gas was investigated through the exploitation of a single clamp-on gamma densitometer and signal processing techniques.

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

Electrified Damage in Motion Systems
The electrified damage in motion systems is a fundamental framework presenting the degradation pathway arising from the coupling of electrical energy transport with mechanical contact and interfacial chemistry. The framework positions electrified damage as a distinct degradation regime with unique characteristic surface morphologies and failures of ...

Productivity for Horizontal Wells in Low‐Permeability Reservoir with Oil/Water Two‐Phase Flow [PDF]
This paper presents a semianalytical steady‐state productivity of oil/water two‐phase flow in low‐permeability reservoirs with both top and bottom boundaries closed which takes the permeability stress‐sensitive and threshold pressure gradient into account. Using the similar approach as Joshi’s (1988), the three‐dimensional (3D) horizontal well problem

The nanostructure, size, and function of mRNA‐loaded lipid nanoparticles are evaluated before drying, within polymer microneedles, and after rehydration. The results reveal the polymer and LNP loadings required to recover nanostructure and preserve the delivery performance in dry‐state formulations.

Monitoring Gas Void Fraction In Two-Phase Flow With Acoustic Emission [PDF]
The two-phase gas/liquid flow phenomenon can be encountered over a range of gas and liquid flow rates in the chemical engineering industry, particularly in oil and gas production transportation pipelines.

A Review of Progress in Oil-Water Two-Phase Flow Research
This paper summarises the current state of research on oil-water two-phase flow, covering flow pattern classification, experimental studies, and model calculations. Common flow patterns and their influencing factors are introduced, and the conversion of different flow types is analyzed.
