Deuterium Distribution in Crude Oil
Isotopes in Environmental and Health Studies, 1997Abstract The aim of this paper is to rehabilitate informative potential of using deuterium as a natural tracer in geofluids investigations and to illustrate how the deuterium concentration from geological fluid links the micro-scale effects to the macro-scale processes.

Oil, Dissent, and Distribution
World Development, 2017Summary This study reveals that social forces condition the extent to which oil-rich nations provide vital public services to the population. Although it is often assumed that oil wealth leads to the formation of a distributive state that generously provides services in the areas of water, sanitation, education, health care, or infrastructure, this ...

Estimating the Oil Droplet Size Distributions in Deepwater Oil Spills
Journal of Hydraulic Engineering, 2007Oil released in a deepwater blowout breaks up into droplets. Hence, the time it takes for oil to reach the water surface, its location, and the size of the surface slick at a given time, are all affected by oil droplet sizes. Information on oil surfacing time, its location, and slick size are essential for emergency spill response as well as ...

Experimental Investigation of Oil Droplet Size Distribution in Underwater Oil and Oil-Air Jet
Marine Technology Society Journal, 2021AbstractUnderstanding the droplet size distribution of subsea oil releasing is important to predict the subsequent transport and degradation of the spilled oil. Single- and multi-phase oil jet experiments were conducted in the Ohmsett facility, including pure oil jet and oil-air jet through a 10.7-mm pipe and a 4.7-mm pipe. Measurements of the vertical

Heavy Oils and Oil Sands: Global Distribution and Resource Assessment
Acta Geologica Sinica - English Edition, 2019AbstractGlobal recoverable resources of heavy oil and oil sands have been assessed by CNPC using a geology‐based assessment method combined with the traditional volumetric method, spatial interpolation method, parametric‐probability method etc. The most favourable areas for exploration have been selected in accordance with a comprehensive scoring ...

Calculation of oil droplet size distribution in ocean oil spills: A review
Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2018Calculation of oil droplet size distribution is one of the key components of ocean oil spill models. Oil fate and transport calculations of the model are significantly impacted by the droplet size distribution. Accuracy of the model predictions heavily depend on how well the model can calculate or represent oil droplet sizes.

Electrical field distribution in transformer oil
IEEE Transactions on Electrical Insulation, 1992Developments in Kerr electro-optic measurement technology at the laboratory have made possible high resolution electric field measurements in nonpolar liquids. The electric field distribution in transformer oil has been studied at service stress levels in both the transient and steady state.

Unusual triterpane distributions in lacustrine oils
Organic Geochemistry, 1992Abstract A series of diahopanes and a second, unknown, early-eluting series of triterpanes are reported in lacustrine oil samples from three different basins. We suggest that these compounds, together with 18α(H) 30-norneohopane, show distributions which vary with the salinity of the depositional environment.

Distribution of Oil Pollution Residues
Journal of the Environmental Engineering Division, 1980A mathematical model capable of simulating the distribution of oil pollution residues along the length of a closed estuary is described. The model consists of a dual system of continuous stirred tank reactors capable of evaluating both single and multipoint source of oil pollution residues.

Geologic Distribution of Oil: ABSTRACT
AAPG Bulletin, 1979A model for the worldwide distribution of oil can be constructed using only geologic variables. Three joint probabilities are required to explain the known distribution of giant oil fields in time. These probability functions are (1) that an adequate source has been deposited, (2) that oil has been generated and entrapped, and (3) that accumulations ...
