Solution‐Processable Tris(5‐substituted 8‐hydroxyquinolinato)aluminum Complexes as Active Matrix for Organic Solid‐State Laser Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
Research is dedicated to glassy Alq3 complexes where bulky triphenyl and Boc groups are attached to the 5‐position in 8‐hydroxyquinolinato ligands groups via methoxy and methylpiperazine linkers. Synthesized complexes form pure thin films from solution and exhibit excellent optical properties.

Contribution of Gli1+ Adventitial Stem Cells to Smooth Muscle Cells in Atherosclerosis and Vascular Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
Gli1+ adventitial stem cells (ASCs) have been thought to generate smooth muscle cells (SMCs) in atherosclerosis. Using a dual‐recombinase lineage tracing to exclude ectopic labeling, Wang et al. found that Gli1+ ASCs do not contribute to SMCs in atherosclerotic plaques.

Monolithic 3D Printing of Origami‐Inspired Soft Robotics from Sustainable Bio‐Based Resin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 15, 13 March 2026.
This work develops a photocurable, bio‐based resin from soybean oil for the monolithic fabrication of sustainable soft robots via Digital Light Processing. An origami‐inspired, vacuum‐actuated soft gripper is designed and fabricated, enabling reliable operation despite the material's lower elongation.

Regulating Zinc Anode Interface with an Environmental Biomass‐Derived Additive for Long‐Lifespan Aqueous Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
A biomass‐derived additive synthesized from chitin, 3‐acetylamino‐5‐acetylfuran (3A5AF), resolves key stability issues such as uncontrolled dendrite growth, hydrogen evolution reaction, and corrosion of zinc anodes by reconstructing the solvation structure of the electrolyte and protecting the anode interface. ABSTRACT Aqueous zinc‐based batteries face
