Crude Oil Refinery and Refinery Products

2021
Crude oil has remained the leading source of fuel or energy in the world. It is a flammable and toxic liquid that contains a complex mixture of hydrocarbons having different molecular weights and other liquid organics. There are varieties of crude oil each with an inimitable mix of molecules that gives its physical and chemical properties and market ...

Crude oil refinery scheduling

Proceedings of the Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference Companion, 2018
This study presents the crude oil scheduling problem with four objectives divided in two different levels of importance. It comes from a real refinery where the scheduling starts on the offloading of ships, encompasses terminal and refinery tanks, a crude pipeline, and finishes on the output streams of the crude distillation units.

Modeling oil refinery operations

Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, 1985
Abstract This paper develops a model to analyze the relative responsiveness of refined petroleum product output to changes in the relative prices of these products. A scheme is devised and implemented that shares out total production into motor gasoline, distillate fuel oil, kerojet fuel, and other refined products.

Oil Refineries in France

2001
After a 15-year period of regression, global oil refining capacity has begun to increase again since the end of the 1990s. This global change conceals considerable variance among the oil-refining countries of the world, since there are notable differences between local markets.

An Australian Oil Refinery

Scientific Lubrication, 1950
A NEW oil refinery is now in production at Altona, Australia, with an output capacity of 15,000,000 gallons per annum. It is producing lubricants for industrial purposes, bitumen for road making, distillate fuel oils and petrol. It is claimed that sufficient lubricating oil will be produced in this plant to supply 50 per cent of Australia's ...

An oil refinery production optimization

2015 5th International Youth Conference on Energy (IYCE), 2015
This paper describes the structure of a complex oil refinery and its optimization model. The refinery has six distillation stages and ability to produce eleven products which can be sold on the market. Revenues are made by product trading. The production of oil refinery is optimized during one year period by taking into account the price of market ...

Hydrogen Production in Oil Refineries

Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 2000
A source of hydrogen is one of the conditions for refining crude oil in existing and future refineries. In refining medium-sulfur crude oil, the hydrogen produced in catalytic reforming of naphtha cuts is sufficient for hydrotreating of straight-run light cuts.

The Organization of Interaction Between Oil Refineries

Journal of the Operational Research Society, 1992
The paper deals with the appropriate form of interaction between two refineries with different demand patterns. This problem can be formulated as finding a decentralized solution of linear programming problems linked by buying and selling activities. The complete problem is first solved for central values of product demands and costs and revenues.
