A Novel Model for Evaluating the Natural Antioxidant Carnosic Acid to Improve the Stability of Rapeseed Oil in the Thermal Degradation

open access: yesAntioxidants
The quality and stability of oil during thermal processing reflect the reactions in vegetable oil. The deterioration of the oil is close to the viscosity, fatty acid composition (FA), total polar compounds (TPC), etc.

Polymer Infiltration Into SURMOF Channels Enables Hydrophobic and Solid‐Like Slippery Functional Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We report a polymer‐chain insertion strategy to fabricate pore‐threaded MOF thin films with precisely tuned surface chemistry and wettability. Grafting n‐alkane chains into the pillared layer Cu2(bdc)2(dabco) MOF thin film's vertical nanochannels enhances water stability, and induces hydrophobicity and lubricant‐free, solid‐like slippery behavior ...

Shape‐Changing Multiphase Microparticles from Complex Liquid Crystal Emulsions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Liquid crystalline network (LCN) microparticles are prepared from single, double (Janus), and triple emulsions through a simple and scalable bulk‐emulsification strategy. Under heating, the particles exhibit robust, reversible, large‐amplitude deformations that depend both on the morphology and the liquid crystals director field configuration.

Whole genome sequence data of Comamonas sediminis FS4_11, a fumonisin B1-transforming bacterium, using hybrid nanopore-illumina sequencingncbiNCBINCBINCBIncbi

open access: yesData in Brief
The genome of Comamonas sediminis FS4_11, a bacterial strain with mycotoxin fumonisin B1 (FB1) transformation capability, was sequenced using Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) and Illumina platforms. The final assembly generated a circular chromosome of

Generation of an Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell‐Derived Alveolar Type II In Vitro Model to Study Influenza A Virus Infection and Drug Treatments

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Patient‐specific induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) can be differentiated into alveolar type II cells (iAT2s), expanded as 3D alveolospheres, and grown at physiologically relevant air–liquid interface (ALI). This study shows for the first time the infectability of iAT2s by the influenza A virus (IAV) and proves their responsiveness to the well ...

Enhancement of Astaxanthin Bioaccessibility by Encapsulation in Liposomes: An In Vitro Study

open access: yesMolecules
Astaxanthin was encapsulated in liposomes by a thin layer dispersion and ultrasound method using soybean phospholipid. The digestion properties of liposomes for encapsulating astaxanthin were investigated in light of particle size, size distribution ...
