Inflation expectations and time variations in the oil price pass‐through
Abstract Previous literature suggests that the pass‐through of oil price shocks to inflation rates became weaker since the 1970s. I use a time‐varying parameter VAR to show that this trend has recently been reversed with headline and core inflation rates responding more sensitive to oil price shocks. Based on a counterfactual analysis, I offer evidence

Pyrolysis kinetics of a Wangqing oil shale using thermogravimetric analysis
A thermogravimetric analyzer was used to study the pyrolysis characteristics of an oil shale at different heating rates. Friedman, Flynn–wall–Ozawa (FWO), and distributed activation energy model (DAEM) methods were used to calculate the kinetic ...

ABSTRACT In the Recôncavo Basin, Northeast of Brazil, mud diapirs have been reported for decades, but their role within the basin's petroleum system remains poorly constrained. Here, we combine 2D seismic interpretation, field observations, and organic geochemical analyses of rocks and oil seeps to investigate the relationship between diapirism and ...

ABSTRACT The paper examines the financial balances of the US economy. Government is the main borrower and households and the foreign sector the main lenders. Business net lending is minimal. The balances and their underlying transactions contradict the loanable funds theory and its “global savings glut” variation.
