2019 State-of-the-Science of Dispersants and Dispersed Oil (DDO) in U.S. Arctic Waters: Public Health and Food Safety [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Chemical dispersants were employed on an unprecedented scale during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and could be a response option should a large spill occur in Arctic waters. The use of dispersants in response to that spill raised

Colloidal Heterostructures Enable Interfacial Transport of Immiscible Molecules in Printable Organohydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Multiphase printable organohydrogels with tunable microstructures are developed to control molecular transport pathways for immiscible cargo. The tortuosity and domain size of the colloidal phases are tuned by adjusting temperature and shear during processing, which enables the tailoring of diffusion kinetics due to different transport pathways.

A few-shot oil spill segmentation network guided by multi-scale feature similarity modeling

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
Segmentation of oil spills with few-shot samples using UAV optical and SAR images is crucial for enhancing the efficiency of oil spill monitoring. Current oil spill semantic segmentation predominantly relies on SAR images, rendering it relatively data ...

Repair Wind Field of Oil Spill Regional Using SAR Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we compared the normalized radar cross section (NRCS) of the synthetic aperture radar in the cases of oil spill and clean sea areas with image samples and determined their thresholds of the NRCS of SAR. we used the NRCS of clean water from

Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Inspired Microneedle Platform for NIR‐responsive Immunomodulation and Accelerated Chronic Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The research demonstrates a Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐inspired microneedle platform (MSCi@MN) that addresses chronic diabetic wounds by combining MSC‐derived extracellular nanovesicles (NV)–DNA conjugates in microneedle tips with photothermal MXene in the patch layer.

An n-valued neutrosophic set method for the assessment of an offshore oil spill risk

open access: yesWater Science and Technology, 2023
With the development of maritime transportation, oil spill accidents occur frequently. In this paper, a scientific and reasonable assessment of ship oil spills, offshore oil platform oil spills, and subsea pipeline oil spills is carried out, and a risk ...

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This
