Anti‐Slip Material‐Based Strategies and Approaches

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review highlights the principle mechanisms of slipping at the microscale, linking contact mechanics with a friction behavior model for surface interfaces. Main strategies to develop anti‐slip properties to the surfaces are discussed alongside standardized testing approaches.

Enhanced unsupervised domain adaptation with iterative pseudo-label refinement for inter-event oil spill segmentation in SAR images

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Earth Observations and Geoinformation
The imaging features of oil spills in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images have significant differences due to factors such as marine environment, SAR sensors, oil film thickness and types, which makes it difficult to obtain a generalized model, and the

AUTOMATIC CALCULATION OF OIL SLICK AREA FROM MULTIPLE SAR ACQUISITIONS FOR DEEPWATER HORIZON OIL SPILL [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2012
The Deepwater Horizon oil spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico in April 2010 and became the largest accidental marine oil spill in history. Oil leaked continuously between April 20th and July 15th of 2010, releasing about 780, 000m3 of crude oil into ...

Initial Distance‐Dependent Mean Force Drives Synaptic Vesicle Motion Toward Fusion Sites in Stimulated Hippocampal Neurons

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synaptic vesicle (SV) motion and exocytosis dynamics in the presynaptic terminals of live neurons are intimately linked to synaptic transmission during neuronal activity. In this work, it is revealed that, during electrical stimulation, SVs located farther from their fusion sites exhibit greater straightness and experience larger mean forces directed ...

Universal Solvent Escape Strategies for Efficient Curing of Hydrogen‐Bond‐Rich 3D Printing Inks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed a new 3D printing method for hydrogen‐bonded polymers by combining solvent replacement, nanoparticles, and optimized printing paths. This allows fast, precise scaffold fabrication. The scaffolds can be easily customized and release therapeutic agents slowly through protonation, enabling personalized bone, blood vessel, and nerve ...
