Application of flue‐gas foam in thermal‐chemical flooding for medium‐depth heavy oil reservoirs

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2019
Heat loss in wellbore during steam injection is considerable due to the deep burial of medium‐depth heavy oil reservoirs, leading to a low steam quality in the bottom of well.

Integration of OpenCV‐Based Microscopic Adhesive Volume Measurement Into a Pyiron Workflow for Automated Data Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Residual adhesive after electrode loading in adhesive‐assisted resistance spot welding is quantified through a traceable experimental‐to‐digital workflow. Chromatic confocal topography provides calibrated surface‐height data, while OpenCV detects the electrode imprint and integrates adhesive height into comparable volume metrics.

Superlubricity and Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Solvate Ionic Liquids in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic–Steel Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

An improved equivalent viscosity model for the bubbly oil under high shear rate

open access: yesFriction
Shear-thinning effect of pure oil and distribution of bubble size are essential factors affecting the viscosity of bubbly oil. This study aims to establish an improved equivalent viscosity model for bubbly oil by considering the shear-thinning effect and

The Effect of the Operating Conditions on the Apparent Viscosity of Crude Palm Oil During Oil Clarification

open access: yesInternational Islamic University Malaysia Engineering Journal, 2012
This paper discusses the apparent viscosity of crude palm oil, using rotary viscometer, under different boundary conditions. It was experimentally shown that the apparent viscosity of palm oil drops with increasing of the shear rate and the temperature.
