Productivity, Energy and Economic Balance in the Production of Different Cultivars of Winter Oilseed Rape. A Case Study in North-Eastern Poland

open access: yesAgronomy, 2020
In this study, the agricultural inputs, energy requirements and costs associated with the production of semi-dwarf (PR45 D03 and Avenir) and long-stem (Visby) cultivars of winter oilseed rape were optimized in an experiment with 35-1 fractional factorial

Evaluation of Yield and Yield Components of Oilseed Rape in the Wheat-Oilseed Rape Strip Intercropping Influenced by Chemical and Biological Fertilizers [PDF]

open access: yesIkufīziyuluzhī-i Giyāhān-i Zirā̒ī, 2015
To evaluate the effects of wheat (Triticum aestivum) and oilseed rape (Brassica napus) strip intercropping on yield components, seed and biological yields of oilseed rape, field experiments were carried out as factorial based on randomized complete block

Host‐associated genetic differentiation and origin of a recent host shift in the generalist parasitic weed Phelipanche ramosa

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, 2023
Branched broomrape, Phelipanche ramosa (L.) Pomel, is a globally distributed parasitic weed of economic importance. In Europe, where it is native, it can infest several crops, notably tomato, tobacco, and hemp.

Novel Antifungal Scaffold Targeting Tubulin Overcomes Sclerotinia Sclerotiorum Resistance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Addressing pesticide resistance, novel chromone‐acylhydrazone hybrids targeting fungal tubulin are synthesized. Compound G24 potently inhibited S. sclerotiorum (EC50 = 0.21µg mL−1) and demonstrated enhanced field performance via microencapsulation, offering a sustainable strategy against resistance and for global food security.

Principles for Rigorous Design and Application of Synthetic Microbial Communities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SynComs are artificially designed to enable inter‐species metabolic interactions, metabolic division of labor, and ecological interactions that can elicit phenotypes like colonization stability and environmental adaptation. This systematic review explores the processes used to construct SynComs, the assessment of the mechanisms of metabolic interaction

Application of Deep Learning in Integrated Pest Management: A Real-Time System for Detection and Diagnosis of Oilseed Rape Pests

open access: yesMobile Information Systems, 2019
In this paper, we proposed an approach to detect oilseed rape pests based on deep learning, which improves the mean average precision (mAP) to 77.14%; the result increased by 9.7% with the original model.

An integrated social and natural sciences case study for the reuse of organic wastes as soil amendments

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Reusing organic waste materials, such as animal manure, as soil amendments reduces water and fertiliser demand, contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. However, organic wastes may contain contaminants of emerging concern (CECs), posing potential ecosystem and human health risks. Despite the importance of this issue, there is a lack
