Kinetics of mercury uptake by oilseed rape and white lupin: Influence of Mn and Cu [PDF]
The final publication is available at Springer via http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11738-013-1253-6Mercury influx in oilseed rape and white lupin was studied using short time influx experiments. The effect of Cu and Mn in Hg influx was also tested.

Carabid and staphylinid communities are shaped by adjacent habitat type, prey availability and landscape context, influencing natural pest control across agricultural landscapes. Abstract BACKGROUND The functioning of agroecosystems depends on key ecosystem processes that deliver ecosystem services, yet agricultural management has increasingly shifted ...

We screened a panel of 98 Brassicaceae genotypes (97 Brassica napus and 1 Sinapis alba) for cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala) larval antibiosis. We found limited evidence for antibiosis across B. napus but consistent antibiosis in S. alba. Brassicaceae relatives may therefore better inform resistance traits for breeding.

Breeding for improved nitrogen use efficiency in oilseed rape [PDF]
Oilseed rape has a high requirement for nitrogen (N) fertiliser relative to its seed yield. This paper uses published and unpublished work to explore the extent to which the N use efficiency (seed yield ÷ N supply) of oilseed rape could be improved ...

Understanding how infection timing drives disease is essential for the development of fungicide resistance management strategies. For blackleg disease of canola, all infection timings can contribute to the following generation, therefore all fungicide applications have the ability to select for resistance.

Forecasting the Adoption of GM Oilseed Rape: Evidence from a Discrete Choice Experiment [PDF]
This paper explores farmers’ willingness to adopt genetically modified oilseed rape prior to its commercial release and estimates the ‘demand’ for the new technology. The analysis is based upon choice experiments with 202 German arable farmers.

Bedeutung und Bekämpfung von Schadinsekten an Winterweizen und Winterraps in Schleswig-Holstein, 1999-2001, und der Trend der Insektizid-Behandlungen von 1999-2004 [PDF]
In the average of 1999 to 2004 winter wheat covered 64 % of the agricultural land of Schleswig-Holstein (331.000 ha), winter oilseed rape 31 %. These two important crops (covering 95 % of the acreage) were attacked in 1999 to 2001 by a) wheat: cereal ...

The continuing significance of chiral agrochemicals
In the time frame 2018–2023, around 43% of the 35 chiral agrochemicals introduced to the market (herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, and nematicides) contain one or more stereogenic centers in the molecule, and almost 69% of them have been marketed as racemic mixtures of enantiomers or stereoisomers.
