Metabolische Untersuchungen lebender Zellen im Minutentakt, ermöglicht durch schnelle Parawasserstoff‐basierte Hyperpolarisation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Thought Experiments in Philosophy of Religion: The Virtues of Phenomenological Realism and Values

open access: yesOpen Theology, 2017
We present a criterion for the use of thought experiments as a guide to possibilia that bear on important arguments in philosophy of religion. We propose that the more successful thought experiments are closer to the world in terms of phenomenological ...

Magnetic vortex lattices in finite isospin chiral perturbation theory

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
We study finite isospin chiral perturbation theory (χPT) in a uniform external magnetic field and find the condensation energy of magnetic vortex lattices using the method of successive approximations (originally used by Abrikosov) near the upper ...

Minute‐Scale Repeated Metabolic Probing of Living Cells Enabled by Rapid Parahydrogen‐Based Hyperpolarization

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Rapid parahydrogen hyperpolarization combined with simple dilution enables biocompatible delivery of hyperpolarized pyruvate to immobilized living cells within ≈1 min. Repeated substrate injections reveal frequency‐dependent metabolic dynamics, introducing a new temporal dimension for hyperpolarized NMR studies of cellular metabolism and enabling rapid

Swelling Behavior of a Crosslinked pHEMA Hydrogel in pH and Salt Environments

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
The swelling behavior of non‐ionic crosslinked poly hydroxyethyl methacrylate (pHEMA) is investigated in alkaline, acidic, and electrolyte solutions. The swelling behavior is affected by crosslinker concentration, pH, swelling time, and specific Ion‐pHEMA‐water interactions.

‘They Even Have the Capacity, but the Places Aren't Prepared to Receive Them’: Community Environment and Participation of Autistic Children in a Family‐Engaged Research Analysis

open access: yesAutism Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To examine the associations between community environmental barriers and support and the participation of autistic children, and to interpret these findings from the perspective of caregivers engaged as research partners. This cross‐sectional observational study employed a mixed‐methods design.

Cross‐Dehydrogenative Coupling Reactions With Redox‐Active Guanidine Reagents

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Cross‐dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) reactions are attractive and environmentally friendly ways to form new C‐C and other element‐element bonds. Here, we report the first CDC reactions triggered by a redox‐active guanidine reagent. N‐phenyltetrahydroisoquinoline and derivatives with electron‐donating and withdrawing substituents at the N ...

In vitro and in sacco determination of neutral detergent fibre digestibility of treated cereal straw

open access: yesJSFA reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Cereal straw is hardly digestible due to its complex bonds of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. That is why chemical treatments, such as with sodium hydroxide, may help to loosen the bonds and thus increase ruminal digestibility. Neutral detergent fibre (NDF) digestibility is a good predictor of feed intake.

Early Steps Toward the Development of a Wireless Neurostimulator Powered and Controlled by Radio Waves

open access: yesImpulse: The Premier Undergraduate Neuroscience Journal, 2017
Brain-machine interfaces communicate data from the brain to external devices to monitor patient health during procedures, such as deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease and in medical research.
