EVALUATION OF LINERBOARD PROPERTIES FROM MALAYSIAN CULTIVATED KENAF SODA-ANTHRAQUINONE PULPS VERSUS COMMERCIAL PULPS [PDF]

open access: yesBioResources, 2010
Malaysian cultivated kenaf has been identified as a suitable raw material for linerboard production. This study examines the soda-antraquinone (soda-AQ) pulp of kenaf fibers versus old corrugated container (OCC) and unbleached softwood kraft pulps as the

USING OF LACCASE IN PAPERMAKING PROCESS FROM OLD CORRUGATED CONTAINER (OCC) PULP [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry and Materials Research, 2021
Old Corrugated Container (OCC) is one of the most potential raw material for paper and paperboard manufacture but it has some disadvantage of a continued decrease in the quality of the fiber during the recycling process.

Redesigning the appearance of recycled containers for packaging applications: The effect of paper waste physicochemical properties on the performance of paperboards with obvious recycled content

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, Volume 36, Issue 5, Page 363-377, May 2023., 2023
The appearance of recycled paperboards was modified to facilitate consumers' recognition of environmentally friendly packaging and promote sustainability. High levels of minimally processed paper waste were incorporated into the recycled furnish, producing paperboards with clues of sustainability, but with low mechanical performance.

Evolution of a Cold Intra‐Transform Ridge Segment Through Oceanic Core Complex Splitting and Mantle Exhumation, St. Paul Transform System, Equatorial Atlantic

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Volume 24, Issue 5, May 2023., 2023
Abstract Accretionary processes at mid‐ocean ridge segments with low magma input have seldom been investigated over the long term. The evolution of such magma‐starved segments over time is still largely unknown. We present a study on the structure and evolution of the southernmost intra‐transform ridge segment of the St.

Tectonic Evolution of a Sedimented Oceanic Transform Fault: The Owen Transform Fault, Indian Ocean

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 42, Issue 5, May 2023., 2023
Abstract The Owen transform fault (OTF) connecting the Sheba and the Carlsberg spreading ridges in the Indian Ocean currently forms the active plate boundary between India and Somalia plates. This 330‐km‐long transform fault is by far the longest transform fault along the India‐Somalia plate boundary and its valley is buried under the thick distal ...

Toward sustainable express deliveries for online shopping: Reusing packaging materials through reverse logistics

open access: yesThunderbird International Business Review, Volume 64, Issue 4, Page 351-362, July/August 2022., 2022
Abstract The COVID‐19 pandemic has led to an increase in online purchases, which has inevitably raised the demand for express delivery packaging materials (EDPMs). This study proposes a reverse logistics reuse framework that extends the EDPM life cycle by drawing on insights and conclusions from a review of the literature on supply chain management and

Carbonate Mineralogy in Mantle Peridotites of the Atlantis Massif (IODP Expedition 357)

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 126, Issue 12, December 2021., 2021
Abstract Petrographic and major element investigations of carbonates from seven drill cores recovered during IODP Expedition 357 on the Atlantis Massif (AM) provide information on the genesis of carbonate minerals in the oceanic lithosphere. Textural sequences and mineralogical assemblages reveal three distinct types of carbonate occurrences in ...
