Contribution of sympathetic nervous system activation to endothelial ischemia reperfusion injury in healthy adults

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 13, Issue 15, August 2025.
Abstract Ischemia–reperfusion injury (IRI) describes the phenomenon through which the restoration of blood flow following prolonged ischemia exacerbates tissue damage during reperfusion. IRI can be modeled by inducing 20‐min arm ischemia followed by reperfusion.

Rare giant cell tumor involvement of the olecranon bone

open access: yesJournal of Research in Medical Sciences, 2014
Giant cell tumor (GCT) of bone is a relatively common benign bone lesion and is usually located in long bones, but involvement of the olecranon is extremely rare.

Use of Sutures as Kirschner Wire and Tensionband Wire for Olecranon Fractures: A Technical Note

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery, 2014
Open reduction and internal fixation using tension-band wires for displaced olecranon fractures enables restoration of extensor function. We report on 3 elderly patients with a displaced olecranon fracture who underwent open reduction and internal ...

Augmented intramedullary screw tension band construct for olecranon fracture reduction and fixation: a review of literature and surgical technique

open access: yesJSES International, 2020
Olecranon fractures, which make up 10% of upper extremity fractures in adults, often require anatomic reduction and stable internal fixation. Successful olecranon fracture osteosynthesis has classically been achieved via tension band wiring or plate ...

Use of autologous platelet rich plasma in bilateral olecranon bursitis healing in canine.

open access: yesÁgora de Heterodoxias, 2015
Olecranon bursitis is an articular disorder observed in dogs confined to hard surfaces or suffering repeated trauma on elbow joints. Although olecranon bursitis is a painless cosmetic problem; it can be difficult to resolve and it can concur with some ...

Fluoroscopic-Assisted Olecranon Fracture Repair in Three Dogs

open access: yesCase Reports in Veterinary Medicine, 2015
Olecranon fractures in dogs are often both comminuted and intra-articular. Anatomic reduction and stable internal fixation are thus paramount to achieving primary bone healing and mitigating the development of posttraumatic osteoarthritis. Intraoperative
