Decreased lung fibroblast growth factor 18 and elastin in human congenital diaphragmatic hernia and animal models. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
International audienceRATIONALE: Lung hypoplasia in congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) seems to involve impaired alveolar septation. We hypothesized that disturbed deposition of elastin and expression of fibroblast growth factor 18 (FGF18), an ...

Changes in cardiac morphometry in fetuses with lower urinary tract obstruction

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 3, May 2026.
Abstract Objective Fetal lower urinary tract obstruction (LUTO) is associated with significant perinatal morbidity due to oligohydramnios, pulmonary hypoplasia, and progressive renal dysfunction. In addition to these well‐known sequelae, LUTO has been linked to various cardiac abnormalities on prenatal imaging, including cardiomegaly; ventricular ...

A predictive scoring model for perinatal loss in monochorionic diamniotic twins with selective fetal growth restriction managed expectantly

open access: yesPregnancy, Volume 2, Issue 3, May 2026.
Abstract Objective To establish a clinically applicable prenatal scoring system to predict perinatal loss in monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twins with selective fetal growth restriction (sFGR). Methods We performed a retrospective cohort study of MCDA twins with sFGR and managed expectantly at a single fetal therapy center between 2010 and 2024 ...

open access: yesUltrasound in Obstetrics &Gynecology, Volume 67, Issue 5, Page 579-589, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To compare the effectiveness and safety of oral misoprostol vs vaginal dinoprostone for the induction of labor (IOL) using an individual participant data (IPD) meta‐analysis. Methods We used a Cochrane review and searched Ovid MEDLINE, Ovid Embase, Ovid Emcare, CINAHL Plus, Scopus and ClinicalTrials.gov to identify randomized ...

Normative range for MRI amniotic fluid volume from 16 to 36 gestational weeks: Absolute and relative values, and correlation to ultrasound

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 5, Page 878-886, May 2026.
This study provides the first MRI‐based normative reference charts for amniotic fluid volume (AFV) and the AFV‐to‐fetal body volume ratio from 16 to 36 weeks' gestation. AFV peaks at 30–31 weeks. These charts offer a reproducible standard for research and complex clinical scenarios.
