Moderate hemophilia B leyden: Identification by polymerase chain reaction, sequencing, and oligomer restriction

open access: closedAmerican Journal of Hematology, 1994
AbstractHemophilia B Leyden is a rare form of congenital factor IX deficiency which is characterized by severe factor IX deficiency at birth, which ameliorates after puberty. It is caused by mutations in the factor IX gene promoter region and the postpubertal amelioration is thought to be mediated by the action of testosterone on an androgen response ...

A group of repetitive human DNA families that is characterized by extrachromosomal oligomers and restriction-fragment length polymorphism

open access: closedJournal of Molecular Biology, 1987
We have recently reported a novel human repetitive DNA (Sau3A family) that exists both in the chromosomes and in the extrachromosomal fraction. Several more clones that hybridized with the Sau3A family were isolated from the extrachromosomal fraction of HeLa cells.

Chronic sleep restriction promotes brain inflammation and synapse loss, and potentiates memory impairment induced by amyloid-β oligomers in mice

open access: closedBrain, Behavior, and Immunity, 2017
It is increasingly recognized that sleep disturbances and Alzheimer's disease (AD) share a bidirectional relationship. AD patients exhibit sleep problems and alterations in the regulation of circadian rhythms; conversely, poor quality of sleep increases the risk of development of AD.

On the restricted Hartree-Fock description of oligomer chains with expected metallic character

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1988
Abstract Restricted Hartree-Fock calculations for uniform linear and cyclic chains of hydrogen atoms with an increasing number of atoms are used to illustrate the behaviour of finite systems under Hartree-Fock type constraints. That behaviour is reminiscent of the pathological behaviour of the corresponding infinite system and the driving forces are ...

Conformationally Restricted Polymers And Oligomers For Second Order Nonlinear Optics: Dielectric And Solid State Characterization

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
The fabrication of second order nonlinear optical materials requires the imposition of noncentrosymmetry on the active moieties in the materials. One of the leading methodologies for inducing noncentrosymmetric alignment of dipolar chromophores used in second order electro-optic materials is to pole them in polymer films.
