A multi‐scale assessment of interior Douglas‐fir tree mortality for hazard and risk assessments
Abstract Land managers use hazard (susceptibility) and risk rating systems to guide the application of forest management treatments that aim to reduce future damages to forests. Rating systems are typically designed for individual damage agents, but tree mortality often results from multiple agents without a clear proximate cause.

Operational sex ratio bias due to sex‐specific cohort splitting in response to predation
Abstract The operational sex ratio (OSR), that is, the local ratio of fertilizable females to sexually active males at any given time, is of key importance for the strength of sexual selection and the reproduction of populations. We hypothesize that sex‐specific cohort splitting, that is, when one sex mostly metamorphoses while the other mostly enters ...

ABSTRACT Access to freshwater has always been a critical factor in sustaining human settlements, especially in regions with limited water resources. In the Mediterranean region, where dry summers and karst landscapes limit water availability, ancient societies developed advanced methods for collecting and storing rainwater. Among these, cisterns played

Abstract Analysis of triacylglycerol (TG) and phospholipid sn‐positional isomers can be divided into two main categories: (a) direct separation by chromatography or other means such as ion mobility mass spectrometry and (b) quantification of regioisomer ratios by structurally informative fragment ions with mass spectrometric methods.
