Duality and the topological filtration

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate some relations between the duality and the topological filtration in algebraic K-theory. As a result, we obtain a construction of the first Steenrod square for Chow groups modulo two of varieties over a field of arbitrary characteristic ...

Dual Artery Compression for Patent Hemostasis and Prevention of Radial Artery Occlusion: The Quebec Terry2 Registry

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Radial artery occlusion (RAO) is a common complication following transradial artery access (TRA). Patent hemostasis is recommended to reduce RAO. Prophylactic ulnar artery compression is a technique to increase the rate of patent hemostasis.

Quantum Chemistry Investigation of Linear and Nonlinear (chir)optical Properties of Oligoamide Foldamers

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
The linear and nonlinear (chir)optical properties of four oligoamide foldamers with different donor groups are studied by means of time‐dependent density functional theory calculations. It is shown that stronger donors yield larger hyperpolarizabilities due to low‐lying charge–transfer states. The agreement with the experiments concerning the key bands

Mechanical Behavior of Plasma-Treated Metal–Rubber Assemblies

open access: yesMolecules
Metal–elastomer assemblies, such as aluminum–NBR and stainless steel–FKM, widely used for sealing or damping functions in various fields, are currently prepared with highly toxic bonding agents. To substitute the use of these liquids, plasma technologies

Chemo‐Enzymatic Route for Covalent Cellulose Fiber Dyeing

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This work presents a proof of concept for a chemo‐enzymatic approach to the covalent dyeing of cotton fibers. Laccase/TEMPO oxidation introduces aldehyde groups, enabling subsequent reductive amination with amino dyes. Excellent color homogeneity and wash fastness were demonstrated using acid red 33, highlighting the robustness of the approach and its ...

Mathematical Modelling of the Population of Potamon potamios Olivier 1804 in Terms of Climatic Factors

open access: yesAquatic Sciences and Engineering
The amount of the Potamon potamios Olivier 1804 population has many positive/negative effects on other aquatic life and is essential for aquatic biodiversity. It is therefore important to determine the population of Potamon potamios Olivier 1804.

Plant diversity estimates of Mediterranean islands differ among biodiversity databases

open access: yesEcography, EarlyView.
Large‐scale biodiversity databases encompass three main types of data for plants, namely single species point occurrences, co‐occurrences in vegetation plots, and checklists for specific areas. Evidence shows that such data types exhibit specific biases, reporting different species assemblages at local scales.

Comprehensive exploration of unexplained dyspnoea in subjects with normal ejection fraction and low natriuretic peptides

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 879-887, April 2025.
Abstract Background Unexplained exertional dyspnoea without significant elevation of natriuretic peptides is common. One of the causes might be early heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Aims This study aimed to characterize patients with exertional dyspnoea and normal/near‐to‐normal N‐terminal pro‐brain natriuretic peptide (NT ...
