Analysis of energy efficient OLSR extensions and OLSR-EXT energetic optimization proposal

Proceedings of the 10th ACM symposium on Performance evaluation of wireless ad hoc, sensor, & ubiquitous networks, 2013
Energy efficiency is a key issue for ad-hoc networks and several proposals have been explored in order to maximize network lifetime. This work analyzes the most relevant modifications proposed in the literature for OLSR in order to make it energy efficient and compares their performance results in terms of throughput, network lifetime and node energy ...

An advanced signature system for OLSR

Proceedings of the 2nd ACM workshop on Security of ad hoc and sensor networks, 2004
In this paper we investigate security issues related to the Optimized Link State Routing Protocol -- one example of a proactive routing protocol for MANETs. We inventory the possible attacks against the integrity of the OLSR network routing infrastructure, and present a technique for securing the network.

Simulation and Analysis of Optimized OLSR

2010 International Conference on Multimedia Information Networking and Security, 2010
We create two Ad hoc network models to run the OLSR and analyze the performance of MPR algorithm after introducing the concept of OLSR and MPR. One modal adopts default MPR algorithm given by RFC3626, the other one optimizes the MPR algorithm by changing the parameter ’Willingness’ of parts of nodes’ OLSR in terms of the networks topology.

EE-OLSR: Energy Efficient OLSR routing protocol for Mobile ad-hoc Networks

MILCOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Military Communications Conference, 2008
This paper presents two novel mechanisms for the OLSR routing protocol, aiming to improve its energy performance in Mobile ah-hoc Networks. Routing protocols over MANET are an important issue and many proposals have been addressed to efficiently manage topology information, to offer network scalability and to prolong network lifetime.

RBC-OLSR: Reputation-based clustering OLSR protocol for wireless ad hoc networks

Computer Communications, 2012
We consider the problem of assuring the trustworthiness (i.e. reliability and robustness) and prolonging the lifetime of wireless ad hoc networks, using the OLSR routing protocol, in the presence of selfish nodes. Assuring the trustworthiness of these networks can be achieved by selecting the most trusted paths, while prolonging the lifetime can be ...

In-Band Wormholes and Countermeasures in OLSR Networks

2006 Securecomm and Workshops, 2006
In a wormhole attack, colluding nodes create the illusion that two remote regions of a MANET are directly connected through nodes that appear to be neighbors, but are actually distant from each other. This undermines shortest-path routing calculations, allowing the attacking nodes to attract traffic, which can then be manipulated.

Energy-Efficient Variations of OLSR

2008 International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference, 2008
Nodes in a mobile ad hoc network are typically battery-powered. Energy consumption is therefore an important metric to consider in designing routing protocols for such networks. In this paper, we present our work on integrating energy-efficiency aspects into a standard MANET routing protocol, OLSR.

Enhancing performance OLSR in MANET

2012 International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 2012
The performance of a Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is closely related to the capability of the implemented routing protocol to adapt itself to unpredictable changes of topology network and link status. The Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol is a one key of the proactive routing protocols for MANETs. It is based on the multi-point relays (MPRs)

An Administration Structure for the OLSR Protocol

2007
The Optimized Link State Routing is one of the most important algorithms supporting the Mobile Ad Hoc Networks technology. The work hereby portrayed aims, therefore, to supply an administration structure for such protocol. The two framework components and the offered entities are a Management Information Base and a derived SNMP subagent implementation.

A Novel Attack Model Simulation in OLSR

2011
The Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol [4] is a route management protocol for mobile ad hoc networks (MANET)s. Such networks have dynamic, rapidly-changing, multi-hop topologies composed of relatively bandwidth-constrained wireless links. OLSR is responsible for maintaining routing tables used for routing packets.
