Archives of Surgery, 1978Liposarcomas are common soft tissue tumors of the mediastinum and the retroperitoneum. Although they are rarely found in the greater omentum, when they occur in that area they can become enormous and be mistaken for pancreatic pseudocysts or ascitic distension.

Heterotopic Paragonimiasis in the Omentum
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 2002Paragonimus westermani is a lung fluke but may be found in organs other than the lungs. A case of omental paragonimiasis was found incidentally by plain radiography and computed tomography and showed multiple, irregularly shaped, conglomerated calcifications in the intraperitoneum. Many P. westermani ova were detected in the resected omentum.

Actinomycosis of the greater omentum
Gastrointestinal Radiology, 1989A case of histologically proven actinomycosis of the greater omentum is reported. Computed tomography (CT) showed a mass at the greater omentum near the left flank area; it was hypervascular on angiograms and was supplied by the omental artery originating from the splenic artery.
