Exhaled aerosols among PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2-infected children

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2023
BackgroundAvailable data on aerosol emissions among children and adolescents during spontaneous breathing are limited. Our aim was to gain insight into the role of children in the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and

GastroNet: A robust attention‐based deep learning and cosine similarity feature selection framework for gastrointestinal disease classification from endoscopic images

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Diseases of the Gastrointestinal (GI) tract significantly affect the quality of human life and have a high fatality rate. Accurate diagnosis of GI diseases plays a pivotal role in healthcare systems. However, processing large amounts of medical image data can be challenging for radiologists and other medical professionals, increasing the risk ...

Stability of an oscillating tip in Non-Contact Atomic Force Microscopy: theoretical and numerical investigations

open access: yes, 2002
This paper is a theoretical and a numerical investigation of the stability of a tip-cantilever system used in Non-Contact Atomic Force Microscopy (NC-AFM) when it oscillates close to a surface. No additional dissipative force is considered.

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.
