Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Structure and validity of incorrect answers and errors of omission in intelligence testing with multiple choice format [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
As in most time-limited multiple-choice tests, raw scores on intelligence tests are determined by incorrect answers and errors of omission. At the same time, it is known that in cognitive tasks of a medium level of complexity and with no time limit both ...

Effects of presentation delivery rate on errors in simultaneous interpreting: A pilot study

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics, 2022
Although the success of information rendition in simultaneous interpreting (SI) is susceptible to many factors, the speed of the source speech (SS) is perceived as one of the most challenging problem triggers.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

The Effect of Selective Data Omission on Type I Error Rates: A Simulation Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
There do not exist widely accepted guidelines or standards for identification and removal of outlying data in empirical research. There are sometimes significant incentives for researchers to discover particular research results.

Voluntary Attention Selectively Modulates Omission Responses [PDF]

open access: yes
Predictive coding conceptualizes attention as a weighting of prediction error signals. However, empirical findings on how attention influences common markers of prediction error have been inconsistent, likely because these markers are typically derived ...
