Integration of SCTP in the OMNeT++ Simulation Environment

Proceedings of the First International ICST Conference on Simulation Tools and Techniques for Communications Networks and Systems, 2008
The INET framework for the widely used OMNeT++ simulation environment supports discrete event simulation for IP-based networks. This paper describes an implementation of the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) within this framework. SCTP is a new transport protocol originally designed for signaling transport in telephony networks.

Simulating Opportunistic Networks with OMNeT++

2019
In this chapter, we focus on how to simulate Opportunistic Networks (OppNets) in OMNeT++. After defining what OppNets are and how they are different from other networking concepts, we detail, one by one, the necessary models for simulating them, such as mobility, network traffic, user behavior, and communication models focusing on the framework that we

A parameterized NoC simulator using OMNet++

2009 International Conference on Ultra Modern Telecommunications & Workshops, 2009
Wormhole switching with virtual channels has been widely deployed in high-speed interconnects at different scales. Its minimal buffer requirements and simple router design promotes its rapid emergence as a preferred switching technique for networks-on-chips as the power and area are two stringent constrains that needs to be considered in such ...

Omnet++ Based Simulation for Underwater Environment

2008 IEEE/IFIP International Conference on Embedded and Ubiquitous Computing, 2008
This paper describes about underwater data transmission simulator. Analysis procedures for various underwater environments and other factors were analyzed. A new simulator based on the analysis results was implemented and performance evaluations were conducted using the developed simulator considering various ack techniques into account.

Simulation of Cognitive Radio Networks in OMNeT++

2014
A widespread methodology for performance analysis and evaluation in communication systems engineering is network simulation. It is widely used for the development of new architectures and protocols. Network simulators allow to model a system by specifying both the behavior of the network nodes and the communication channels, and Cognitive Radio (CR ...

IEEE 802.15.4 security sublayer for OMNET++

2017 13th International Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing Conference (IWCMC), 2017
Most network simulators do not support security features. In this paper, we introduce a new security module for OMNET++ that implements the IEEE 802.15.4 security suite. This module, developed using the C++ language, can simulate all devices and sensors that implement the IEEE 802.15.4 standard. The OMNET++ security module is also evaluated in terms of

Development of SCADA Simulator using Omnet++

2019 16th International Bhurban Conference on Applied Sciences and Technology (IBCAST), 2019
Industrial control systems (ICS) are used to automate many industries like power generation, petroleum, manufacturing, traffic control etc. Increase in the use of IT (information technology) components in ICS introduces many new vulnerabilities. Security breach in ICS can cause serious damages and is threat to human life.
