Pg releases OMVs which contain Pg genomic DNA. The Pg OMVs‐associated DNA is incorporated into astrocytes via endocytosis and increases IL‐6 mRNA expression via TLR9. These effects of Pg OMVs may induce neuroinflammation, which could contribute to the onset and progression of AD in periodontal disease.

In this model, ROS generated by UVB result in PAFR agonists acting upon the PAFR resulting in MVP generation release via the enzyme aSMase. In photosensitivity, there are increased ROS, resulting in augmented PAF agonists and increased MVP release. This process can be blocked by aSMase inhibitors.

During the 2023–2024 Argentine dengue outbreak, 33 patients with hematological disease showed high complication rates, frequent hospitalization (64%), severe thrombocytopenia (90%), and 6% dengue‐attributable mortality. Transfusion‐associated cases were documented.
