On-line respiratory gas monitoring

Computers and Biomedical Research, 1973
Abstract An automated system for monitoring vital signs and respiratory gases is described. By careful selection of analog and digital hardware, a relatively small and inexpensive system can be made to perform complex monitoring functions on a practical clinical basis.

On-line monitoring: a tutorial

Computer, 1995
Online monitoring can complement formal techniques to increase application dependability. The article outlines the concepts and identifies the activities that comprise event based monitoring, describing several representative monitoring systems. It focuses on four areas: dependability, performance enhancement, correctness checking, and security. >

On-Line Fault Monitoring

Journal of Electronic Testing, 1998
Sequoia‘s fault-tolerant computers were designed subject to some rather rigid constraints: No single hardware malfunction can generate an undetected error; an integrated circuit is a “black box” that can fail in arbitrary ways, affecting an arbitrary subset of input and output signals; faults can be transient or intermittent with arbitrary durations ...

Experiments in line quality monitoring

IBM Systems Journal, 1976
This paper describes an experimental line quality monitoring (LQM) system, which has been in regular operation in several IBM locations. The LQM system uses a System/7 to gather information about the analog phenomena that occur on telephone data transmission lines. It gathers the information without taking the lines out of service.

On-line monitoring of computer systems

Third IEEE International Workshop on Electronic Design, Test and Applications (DELTA'06), 2006
The paper deals with the problem of on-line diagnosis of computer systems. It is based on three monitoring techniques related to system event logging, performance and resource usage measurements. This approach is illustrated with practical results.

On-Line Voltage Stability Monitoring

2018 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2018
This paper reviews the basic assumptions of real-time voltage instability monitoring, based on impedance matching and compares it with a new method based on either phasor measurement units (PMU), or distance relays. It is shown that the limitations associated with impedance matching assumptions are overcome by the proposed method, which can accurately ...

The GPSS On-Line Monitor

IEEE Transactions on Systems Science and Cybernetics, 1968
This paper describes a system for monitoring a General Purpose Simulation System (GPSS) run while the run is in progress. The on-line monitor provides the ability to select and display statistics related to the GPSS entities. The IBM 2250 and the IBM 2260 display consoles are used as interface devices.

CVP Lines: Monitoring and Maintaining

The American Journal of Nursing, 1978
heart function in relation to blood volume and are helpful in determining a patient's fluid volume requirements. In addition, a CVP line may be used to administer fluids and drugs. Maintaining the patency of the system, monitoring pressures accurately, and preventing infection are the primary goals in caring for patients with CVP lines.

On Line Monitoring of Acrylamide Formation

2006
A system to monitor the formation of acrylamide in model systems and from real food products under controlled conditions of temperature, time and moisture content has been developed. By humidifying the gas that flows through the sample, some control over moisture content can be affected. Results are presented to show the validity and reproducibility of

On-line monitoring system for tracks

2015 3rd Experiment International Conference (exp.at'15), 2015
Rolling stock wheels eventually show, soon or later, geometry defects, cracks, fatigue, flaking, wear, etc. These defects induce an additional stress in both, wheels and rail tracks which in turn tend to decrease the infrastructure life time. This paper presents an on-line monitoring system installed at Estarreja (Portugal north rail track network ...
