Orbital pathology

European Journal of Radiology, 2004
This overview of orbital pathology deals with different kinds of tumors, inflammatory, vascular, and traumatic diseases, which may involve the orbit. Depending on the respective orbital compartment of the globe, the intrakonal, extrakonal and optic nerve the most important and most frequent lesions are presented with their specific clinical symptoms ...

Orbital angioleiomyoma: A rare orbital neoplasm

Orbit, 2016
A 44-year-old male patient presented with painless progressive proptosis of left eye for the last 20 years. Examination revealed a purplish vascular mass extending from the medial orbital region to the surface of the globe. He underwent complete excision of the mass via an anterior orbitotomy approach. Histopathology and immunohistochemistry revealed a

The Value of Orbital Echography in Orbital Practice

Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, 1998
Twenty-three consecutive patients with orbital masses who were referred to a major medical center and later had biopsies underwent ophthalmic echographic evaluation. The efficacy of orbital echography was compared with both the clinical evaluation and other orbital imaging methods (computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging).

Orbital Shrinking

2012
Symmetry plays an important role in optimization. The usual approach to cope with symmetry in discrete optimization is to try to eliminate it by introducing artificial symmetry-breaking conditions into the problem, and/or by using an ad-hoc search strategy. In this paper we argue that symmetry is instead a beneficial feature that we should preserve and

Orbital tuberculoma masquerading as an orbital malignancy

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Ophthalmology, 1997
Abstract Background: Orbital tuberculosis is exceedingly rare in areas where tuberculosis is non‐endemic. A case of childhood orbital tuberculosis is reported, which the authors believe to be the first reported case of orbital tuberculosis in the Australasian region.

Orbital Indications

2010
GKNS for uveal melanoma has become a recognized valued treatment which avoids enucleation of the eye. In the early days, the eccentric location of these tumors made treatment difficult, but Gamma Knife Perfexion has solved that problem. It is known that larger tumors and tumors with an anterior location have a worse prognosis.

Orbit–orbit interaction

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1979
A new tensor expansion of the orbit–orbit interaction is derived straightforwardly in a form which is compact and completely symmetric in the coordinates of interacting particles. The m-scheme matrix element of the orbit–orbit interaction is then obtained as a concise sum of radial integrals.

Orbital myiasis in neglected orbital retinoblastoma

The National Medical Journal of India
We describe a 4-year-old girl with a white reflex since birth, who presented with orbital retinoblastoma, complicated with orbital myiasis as a result of lack of compliance to treatment. The patient was managed with orbital exenteration followed by adjuvant radiation therapy.
