A synopsis of Cohniella (Orchidaceae, Oncidiinae)

Brittonia, 2010
A synopsis of the genus Cohniella is presented with nomenclatural updates with a discusion of diagnostic features and biogeographical data. Thirteen species and one natural hybrid are recognized. Two new species, Cohniella pendula and Cohniella biorbicularis, are described and illustrated.

Further taxonomic transfers in Oncidiinae (Orchidaceae)

Phytotaxa, 2011
To bring species nomenclature for Oncidiinae in line with a comprehensive phylogentic study based on multiple DNA sequences and patterns of morphological variation, we present additional name transfers: (i) Ada, Brachtia, and Mesospinidium into Brassia and (ii) Pachyphyllum and Raycadenco into Fernandezia.

Natural Hybridization in Lophiaris (Orchidaceae: Oncidiinae)

Systematic Botany, 2018
Five new natural hybrids of Lophiaris (Orchidaceae, Oncidiinae) are described and their accompanying illustrations provided. The five new nothospecies are: Lophiaris × cicyi (L. lurida × L. tapiae) from Campeche, Mexico, L. × lindeoerstedii (L. lindenii × L. oerstedii) from Quintana Roo, Mexico, L.×lurilindenii (L. lindenii×L.

Capanemia (Oncidiinae): an orchid genus revised and simplified

Plant Systematics and Evolution, 2020
A taxonomic revision of Capanemia (Orchidaceae) was completed after morphological, nomenclatural and phylogenetic studies. Our analyses do not support the infrageneric classification (Capanemia sect. Capanemia and Capanemia sect. Planifolia) proposed by Pabst in the seventies and recovered Sanderella as the sister group of Capanemia, albeit with low ...

In this revision, we recognize 85 taxa assigned to four genera: Cohniella with 23 species in five complexes and two natural hybrids; Lophiaris with 27 species and eight natural hybrids, six of which are yet to be named; Trichocentrum with 27 species and two subspecies; and Lophiarella with

Studies in Fernandezia Ruiz & Pav. (Orchidaceae: Oncidiinae)

Harvard Papers in Botany, 2018
Literature and herbarium studies of the Neotropical orchid genus Fernandezia Ruiz & Pav. reveal that a number of previously recognized taxa should be synonymized, while at the same time it is necessary to propose several new taxa (45 species and 11 varieties). Fernandezia distichoides (Pachyphyllum distichum) and F.

Seed Morphology in the Oncidiinae and Related Subtribes (Orchidaceae)

Systematic Botany, 1988
A survey of seed morphology, using scanning electron microscopy, of the Oncidiinae and related Neotropical subtribes found that the majority of these taxa exhibit a uniform seed condition, designated the Maxillaria type. The two major variants within the Oncidiinae are anticlinal wall ornamentation and two different forms of extensions of the testa ...
