Abstract Enolase from two species of Pacific salmon has been isolated and characterized. Both crystalline preparations show the presence of three electrophoretically distinct enzyme forms, but while the chum salmon enolases appear in an approximate ratio of 1:3:4, the coho salmon has one predominant (95%) form and only traces of two other enolases ...

Inflexibility of vertebral number in chum salmon Oncorhynchus keta
Fisheries Science, 2010Chum salmon Oncorhynchus keta eggs from the Chitose and Shiriuchi rivers in Hokkaido, northern Japan, were incubated under identical conditions with the aim of comparing vertebral number (V N) to that reported archived data from the 1950s.

Further characterization of growth hormone from the chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta)
General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1985This report describes the isolation of growth hormone (GH) from the chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) pituitary using gel, affinity, and ion exchange chromatography. Chum GH has an estimated molecular weight of 23,500 and an amino acid composition that is consistent with a vertebrate GH. The differentially charged forms of chum GH which are only apparent

Characterization of a protamine gene from the chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta)
Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1988We have cloned and sequenced a protamine gene from the chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta). This gene sequence is highly homologous to one found in the rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri), including the conservation of two structurally different repetitive elements.

Development of an ELISA for Chum Salmon (Oncorhynchus keta) Growth Hormone
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 1997A specific and sensitive enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was developed for the measurement of low levels of serum growth hormone (GH) in chum salmon (Oncorhynchus keta). The antiserum to GH (a-rsGH) was obtained from a rabbit immunized with recombinant chum salmon GH.
