Acute toxicity of platinum to coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch)

open access: yesMarine Pollution Bulletin, 1979
Abstract The effects of short-term exposure to tetravalent platinum on survival, opercular movement and post-treatment growth of coho salmon fry (Oncorhynchus kisutch) was investigated. Employing a static water acute toxicity bioassay with platinum as PtCl 4 2HCl·6 H 2 O, at 8.5±0.2°C, and a water hardness of 55.9±3.5 mg l. −1 (as CaCo 3 ), the 24,

Hypoxia modulates the transcriptional immunological response in Oncorhynchus kisutch

Fish & Shellfish Immunology, 2020
Oncorhynchus kisutch is the third most cultivated salmonid species in the Chilean salmon industry and its farming conditions are characterised by high stocking density leading to the generation of high levels of organic matter (food - feces) and decomposition.

Characterization of coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) insulin

Regulatory Peptides, 1985
Insulin has been isolated from islet tissue of coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) by gel filtration and HPLC and the complete amino acid sequence has been determined. The sequence differs from bovine insulin at 14 sites but all interchanges are conservative from the viewpoint of preservation of conformation. A comparison of insulin sequences from other

Osmotic adaptation of Oncorhynchus kisutch Walbaum

Aquaculture, 1978
Abstract Coho salmon yearlings, reared in France in a freshwater hatchery, were directly transferred to sea water at three different periods of the year: 14 January, 3 March and 14 April 1976. The last two experiments were realized at three different salinities: 25, 30 and 35‰.

Characterization of coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) islet somatostatins

General and Comparative Endocrinology, 1986
Three different somatostatins have been isolated from the pancreatic islet tissue of the coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch) by gel filtration and HPLC. Two of these peptides contain 14 amino acids and the larger third peptide consists of 25 amino acids.
