Low-Complexity MIMO Detection Based on Reinforcement Learning With One-Bit ADCs
IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, 2021This paper proposes a low-complexity reinforcement learning detection (RLD) algorithm for multi-input multi-output systems with one-bit analog-to-digital converters. The proposed algorithm exploits pairs of quantized received signals and detected symbols as training examples to train the likelihood function (LF) of the system.

Deep Learning-based Carrier Frequency Offset Estimation with One-Bit ADCs
2020 IEEE 21st International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2020Low resolution architectures are a power efficient solution for high bandwidth communication at millimeter wave and terahertz frequencies. In such systems, carrier synchronization is important yet has not received much attention. In this paper, we develop and analyze deep learning architectures for estimating the carrier frequency of a complex sinusoid

Channel AoA estimation for massive MIMO systems using one-bit ADCs
Although massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) can enhance the overall system performance significantly, it could suffer from high cost and power consumption issues due to using a large number of radio frequency (RF) chains. Two different approaches are commonly exploited to overcome these issues. The first approach is using hybrid beamforming,

Digital Precoding Design for MIMO System with One-Bit ADC Receivers
2019When wireless communication transmits in the bandwidth of gigahertz, radio-frequency (RF) chains and high-resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) increasingly bring burdens to energy consumption. To solve this problem, promising techniques are to use low-resolution ADCs and hybrid precoding architectures. In this work, we combine these solutions

Noise-Aided Demodulation with One-Bit ADC for Quadrature Amplitude Modulated Signals
2018 IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM), 2018This paper proposes a new demodulation method using a one-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC). With one bit resolution, a signal having a multilevel signal, such as a quadrature amplitude modulated (QAM) signal, is largely degraded by nonlinearity. To demodulate the signals, a high- resolution ADC is used to receive the signals with high linearity ...

Secrecy Capacity of a Gaussian Wiretap Channel with One-bit ADCs is Always Positive
2019 IEEE Information Theory Workshop (ITW), 2019We consider the Gaussian wiretap channel with one-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) at both the legitimate receiver and the eavesdropper. In this channel, we show that a positive secrecy rate is always achievable whenever the noise power $n_{1}^{2}$ at the legitimate receiver is not the same as the noise power $n_{2}^{2}$ at the eavesdropper.

AoAs and AoDs estimation for sparse millimeter wave channels with one-bit ADCs
2016 8th International Conference on Wireless Communications & Signal Processing (WCSP), 2016Millimeter wave (mmWave) communication is favored for its abundant bandwidth. However, the sampling rate scales up with the large bandwidth, thus making it difficult to implement high-resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). In addition, a large-scale array is employed to overcome the high path loss of the mmWave channels.

Soft-Output Detector for Uplink MU-MIMO Systems With One-Bit ADCs
IEEE Communications Letters, 2018We consider an uplink multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) system with one-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). In this system, numerous symbol detectors, such as maximum-likelihood, zero-forcing, and supervised-learning-based detectors, have been proposed by using one-bit quantized channel outputs.

Uplink Performance Analysis of Oversampled Wideband Massive MIMO with One-Bit ADCs
2018 IEEE 88th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC-Fall), 2018Use of 1-bit analog-to-digital converters in massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems has been investigated widely due to the very low power consumption and implementation complexity they have. In this study, we present the benefits of temporal oversampling at the receiver side in 1-bit quantized uplink wideband massive MIMO systems.
