Dynamic geo‐hydrogeological monitoring‐driven situational awareness for real‐time floor water inrush risk prediction in deep mining

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The fused data extracted from the distributed monitoring system as the data basis, combined with dynamic geological data, are imported into a deep learning model. As the geological conditions of mining and excavation change, the risk of water inrush at the working face is retrieved in real time.

Carbon emission assessment of tunnel infrastructures: From construction to operation

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study develops a lifecycle carbon accounting framework for tunnel infrastructures, covering design, construction, operation, maintenance, and dismantling. Applied to a subsea tunnel case, the framework reveals the carbon emission distribution among four typical tunnel types and highlights potential carbon offset methods for low‐carbon tunnel ...

Behaviour of Unbonded Post-Tensioned One-Way Concrete Slabs

Advances in Structural Engineering, 2008
The behaviour of unbonded post-tensioned one-way concrete slabs is investigated experimentally and numerically in this paper. Two tests were conducted by the authors to measure the strains in the tendon during the post-tensioning stage and during the ultimate load test.

One-way edge mode in a gyromagnetic photonic crystal slab

Optics Letters, 2012
We demonstrate that one-way electromagnetic modes could be sustained by the edge of a gyromagnetic photonic crystal slab of triangular lattice under an external dc magnetic field. The applied magnetic field breaks the time-reversal symmetry of the three-dimensional system, and thus the original degeneracy point in k space, at which two dispersion ...

Flexural capacity of one-way GFRP concrete slabs

Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Construction Materials, 2011
The objective of the reported study was to investigate and evaluate the behaviour of one-way concrete slabs reinforced with glass-fibre-reinforced polymer (GFRP) rebars under distributed and line loads. A fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composite made with resin-impregnated continuous fibres is considered a promising alternative to traditional steel ...
