The terrestrial Isopods (Oniscidea) of the Arabian Peninsula

Seventeen species of terrestrial Isopoda from the Arabian Peninsula are listed. All the species but the cosmopolitan Porcellionides pruinosus (Brandt, 1833) and the littoral Tylos maindroni Giordani Soika, 1954 are illustrated. Four species are described as new: Periscyphis barnardi, P.

The terrestrial Isopoda of Corsica (Crustacea, Oniscidea)

seventy-six species of terrestrial isopods are recorded from Corsica. Eight species (Oritoniscus punctatus, Tiroloscia montana, Platyarthrus corsicus, Cylisticus uncinatus, Alloschizidium campanellii, Armadillidium lanzai, A, littorale and A. torchiai) are described as new and twelve are newly recorded from the island.

Prior to the present study, fourteen species of terrestrial isopods had been recorded from Oman. The systematic status of a species of Periscyphis, previously not fully identified, has been reconsidered; it is described here as a new species (Periscyphis dhofarensis).

The characters and composition of the family Eubelidae are discussed. At present the family includes 39 genera and 216 species. Six genera previously ascribed to this family have been removed, viz. Toradjia, Adinda, Protoradjia, Ankaritridium, Ambounia and Suarezia.
