Bayesian Penalized Method for Streaming Feature Selection

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The online feature selection with streaming features has become more and more important in recent years. In contrast to standard feature selection method, streaming feature selection method can select feature dynamically without exploring full feature ...

Gradient Decomposition Methods for Training Neural Networks With Non-ideal Synaptic Devices

open access: yesFrontiers in Neuroscience, 2021
While promising for high-capacity machine learning accelerators, memristor devices have non-idealities that prevent software-equivalent accuracies when used for online training.

Evaluating Stability in Massive Social Networks: Efficient Streaming Algorithms for Structural Balance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
Structural balance theory studies stability in networks. Given a n-vertex complete graph G = (V,E) whose edges are labeled positive or negative, the graph is considered balanced if every triangle either consists of three positive edges (three mutual ...

Learning from time-dependent streaming data with online stochastic algorithms

open access: yesTrans. Mach. Learn. Res., 2022
This paper addresses stochastic optimization in a streaming setting with time-dependent and biased gradient estimates. We analyze several first-order methods, including Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), mini-batch SGD, and time-varying mini-batch SGD, along with their Polyak-Ruppert averages.

Semi-Streaming Algorithms for Weighted k-Disjoint Matchings [PDF]

open access: yes
We design and implement two single-pass semi-streaming algorithms for the maximum weight k-disjoint matching (k-DM) problem. Given an integer k, the k-DM problem is to find k pairwise edge-disjoint matchings such that the sum of the weights of the ...

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.
